How to avoid Life threatening

Hello
I want to have my own business of garments and wooden novelties, operating from home. I almost set everything to start, but I have one perticular thing which scaring me lot.
As u know that in home based business so many people come to home, some times I have be alone in home, what happns if somebody try to attach on me by thinking I have too much of cash in hand or some other costly items or jewellery.
HOw to protect myself. What to do in that position. Please give me your suggestion in regard to this.

Hi Suja

If at all your home is isolated or your neighbours are far away, then the best you can do is try to rent a small office in an area near your house which is bit populated.

Here are some other suggestions:

1) Try to have a seperate entrance for your home office. This will prevent strangers from knowing more details about your home, like how is it furnished, how many members reside etc.

2) Install some security device like siren which you can use to alert neighbours in case of emergency.

3) Keep a dog. Not a Pomeranian or Chihuahua Preferably a Rottweiler or Doberman. Even the sight of a Rottweiler sends shiver through my spine!

Giving a walk to your dog can be a great exercise for home workers too!

Hi Suja,

I would also make sure to stick to the hours you list for business. Example if someone comes after the stated time I would use a sign or something and don't answer the door or phone. Plus I would make sure someone friend, neighbor someone is there with me at all times I do business.

In my business ppl can seek and target me if a bad job is done on there car and is has happend to ppl i kno and would happen.

it is not a registerd buniness and i have kno insurance if something goes bad, but there is alot of potencal money to be made.

Is it easy for ppl to tell the tax office and get cort?

any dos and not do's? (I work on asen cars and street racers, these ppl have been known to take matters in there own hands)
