|
|
I build my own line of furniture which is small enough to fit kids and people with SED/dwarfism and am trying to find somewhere to sell it. I don't really want to run my own website or brick and motar store I would rather leave those headaches to someone else. So where do I go to find someone to sell my product? I build the furniture in my own home so I have low overhead costs, my husband assists me when he's not busy selling on amazon. I have listed a couple of my items on amazon but would like to find more small businesses to advertise/sale my product line.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kate Phillips

Hi Kate,
Have you tried using Andale? They have a section there called "Suppliers", where folks that have items to offer (like you do) network with people people looking for items to sell. It is a great feature and I have found it very helpful for me! I hope this helps, the web address is http://www.andale.com

I signed up and posted my stuff, we'll see how it goes. How long did it take for people to find your stuff? What kind of stuff do you make? How else do you sale your stuff besides through andale?
I'm thinking of trying out a yahoo store, i've used them before but not with my own items, the only thing i don't like is the time it takes running a store and still finding time to build the merchandise. I have yet to hire help other than my hubby.
Thanks again for the lead.

Hi, Kate,
I suggest finding local furniture stores to start carrying your products. This way you could deliver everything yourself to cut down on costs in the beginning. Once things take off, you could expand your market and have your furniture shipped wherever there is demand.
Also, since your target is children and people with SED/dwarfism, you should target middle to upper class parents who have money to spend on buying furniture for their kids. You could also find out if there are any kind of SED/dwarfism clubs or groups near you and contact them.
I'm sure your goods will sell if you can get them in front of the right targeted buyers.

Welcome Kate,
Have you tried ebay, I would also suggest going to some of the many forums like:
http://www.internetbasedmoms.com
http://www.mymommybiz.com
http://www.wahm.com
and so, so many more meet greet talk about what you do etc. I would also suggest you if possible put up a small website 1-5 pages so other could see your work. You don't have to sell from the site but people want to see samples of what you do provide you contact information phone, number, fax, email. Just a few options. Also is you still are not interested in the website why not look into one of those online photo sites when you can post pictures of the furniture so customers can see it than they can contact you for more information pricing etc.
Oh plus this others sites are get for advertising as well many have a links page or offer paid advertising. good luck
M
PS For more sites do a search on google.
