Hi everybody, Smile
I am new to working at home after being home for two years with twins and a young daughter. I worked for 15 years as an Accountant and NEED to work but would love to stay at home. I have a very good idea of what business I want to start and what services I want to offer but don't know how to move off. I guess I am asking someone to help me get off the ground. Laughing

Hello SieMc,

Well start up a new business is always difficult, whoever can stay on and learn from their own mistakes will win. Since you already have an idea on what you want to do, I guess the difficulties you may face are: client base and start up fee. Are those your major concerns right now?

Thanks Wendy but I think my problem is knowing how to start off. Marketing myself and my product - where do I start. I have been an accountant for 15 years and I am very good at working the numbers but I don't have any idea how to start marketing it.

Hi SieMc,

If your new business is related to your current profession then your exisiting customer database would be the first choice to market your products. I hope you already have a database of your clients.

Hire a copywriter, draft a sales letter and mail your clients about your new product.

Read some good marketing books (Dan Kennedy). Marketing is something which you master over a period of time. It cannot be learnt overnight. It's a continuous learning process.
