I'm interested in selling used cars part time. I don't want to get a dealer's license just yet, at least not until I decide whether this will work for me. I just want to buy and sell a couple of cars from my home (legally) without paying the full slew of taxes required to register the vehicle in my name. Is that possible in general, or specifically in Colorado? Know of any resources where I might be able to find the answer to that question?
Thanks,
Gary

Sorry mate ur going to need to pout them in ur name auless u get a linense but mark the cars lower than what u buy them for.
Plus get ones with little problems or quick fix problem you can fix for bugger all, then buy them for less, u can allso get a quote on how much it will cost to fix and show the seller then do it ur self.
My mate does this all the time and he auctions them off, good money!

yeah, i don't think there's any way around it.. because the paperwork involved for the new owner requires all that information. If you buy it from a private party you might be able to convince them to sign a lower amount a friend of mine did this once. kind of like what mate was talkin about. say you buy it for 2000 write down 500 and say that it didn't work when you bought it.. dunno
