I was wanting to try and make extra money on ebay but my problem is you have to spend money to make money. Does anyone know where you can find cheap products to sell on ebay for a profit? I though about maybe selling some things I get from an auction but not sure if thats the way to go.

Thanks for your help.

I have some experience of this.

My Group have wholesale scheme with our main affiliate program - buy in bulk and sell at a profit - and many of our successful sales reps have been doing this offline to make a good regular income.

Some people have started using EBay to sell some of the products - this has worked well with our nutrition/wellness and cleaning products in particular.

After a sale is made, our reps dispatch the order and enclose details of their own webstore. This allows the customer to buy future sales direct from the rep's store - repeat customers mean residual income - and no hassle with posting and delivering the goods yourself.

You are of course free to keep advertising items of Ebay for as long as you want to make direct sales, or until you have built up a customer base.

A simple strategy, but it has proven to be an effective one!

P.S. we also have a popular ebook on "How To sell On EBay":

Hi Welcome,

Many on ebay are not selling brand new merchandise, depending on what you want to sell if you know what to look for you could buy at wholesale prices on ebay and resell the merchandise at a higher price. I know many are doing this as well, I have done it.

I sell old NES systems on ebay, with no problems and they sale fairly well when I list them. Do you research, it will pay off. Start with stuff around you home that is not being used, clean it up make sure its working, write clear, true description disclose everything and you should have no problems.

I have made some money selling my own copyrighted material on ebay. One thing you have to keep an eye on though is other people selling similar items. Ebay can get pretty competative which means lower prices and ebays fees are ever increasing which means lower profit margins for you if you are not careful.

I recently sold all kinds of items that I no longer used around the house.

For example:

Fly Reel $180
Gretzky Rooky Card $150

Computer parts sell really well. Do you have any old computers hanging around? Do you know were you can get old computers from businsses that have upgraded? I sold old ISA and PCI video cards. Old memory sticks. Old ISA modems all kinds of goodies in used computers. And people actually buy it!

You should do a search for wholesale dropshippers. You can find some here and there or you can pay for a whole bunch of them, like hundreds of them. I've seen catalogs of wholesale dropshippers sell for about $20. One of the sites I found that you don't have to pay for is http://www.123dropship.com/

The way it works is pretty simple...you find the products you like, than set up an auction on ebay. If you item sells the buyer pays you than you order from the dropship company. They send it to the customer for you. I find most of the dropship companies have good prices, and of course you just charge more on ebay. Do your research though, many companies will only allow you to buy in bulk, but just as many will allow you to purchase one item at a time.

Hi Kdipressi,

Do you know of any dropshippers who sell home decor products and who are reliable to do business with ? How long have you been working with 123dropship.com ? Any help/info would be appreciated.

Thanks.
