My sales are still doing very well, despite all the changes. I beleive more effort is involved in designing listings though. There are so many items listed that are alike. You need to show people why your item is the best one for them to buy.
Using marketing skills in the listings helps alot and you do need great pictures.
There is also a bigger choice of categories now and also a compare items feature that they just added which I feel will be helpful.
If anyone is interested, ebay is running a 2 day special today and tomorrow with:
1 cent gallary
1 cent subtitles
1 cent listing designer
I know I'm taking advantage of it!

I recently got an e-mail regarding "eBay workers needed", there was an 800 number to call and they asked for a $6.95 registration fee to get connected to their private website. Scam?

This sounds like the deal where what you are buying is a bunch of ebooks that are already over circulated around ebay and no one wants. They tell you that you can sell them on ebay and make thousands.
I would stay away from that deal
Have a great day!

Hi Lisa,
We are sort of new to the autioning on ebay I have researched the ebay site ( not all simply because there is so much there) but I have spent several hours looking around to see what sells and what does not sell. I am considering clothing it appears that women and childrens clothing sells fairly well however the items shoud be of name brand and in very good condition. My hubby and I go to alot of auctions its oe of our hobbies and ofcourse household items sell very well and old stuff.
Can you tell me in your opinion what sells other than clothing
what do you sell?
I looked into selling wholeesale online but it seems that there is so much negative and positive feedback Im not really sure if it would be worth the time to get involved in that end of the deal
whats your opinion
thank you for your time

Jewelry, as seen on TV items and Collectibles also sell very well on eBay. Another idea is seasonal items.
Ebay has a list of Hot Items available free in a pdf file if you are interested. It is available in Seller Central on eBay.
Wholesale items are the way to go, but you have to be able to purchase large amounts at once in order to really make this work. Which of course means that you will need a good chunk of cash to get going. You just can't get the great prices that allow for a large enough margin buying in small quantities.
I have sold a little bit of everything on eBay with better than average success rates. How you present your item and the title used makes a big difference.
I hope I have helped you some
Have a great day,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I'm totally a newbie to online auction. I have a big question in my mind for dropshipping:
Most wholesaler ask for minimum order. But what if I cannot sell that many items on E-bay? Then how should I ask for dropshipping from the wholesaler?
Thank you very much.

thuang_ads,
There are wholesale companies that have dropship programs available. You'll just have to look around.
Most of them charge a certain fee to be enrolled in the dropship program and then you will pay an additional per item dropship fee.
Make sure to figure the per item fees into your auction costs and adjust the starting, buy it now or shipping fees accordingly. (However you wish to recoup your per item costs)
I did sell as see on TV items using the dropship services of a company and I made a reasonble profit. The only thing I didn't like was when the company was on backorder on a product that I had just sold on ebay.
My customers had to wait and wait and then they would naturally hold it against me. Some would even leave bad feedback for having to wait, although it was not my fault, nor did I have any control over it.
Just a couple things to keep in mind
Good Luck!
Lisa

I just started on ebay, and the first auctions sold, but this last one didn't sell well. Not just on ebay, but on justbeads as well, where in my first auction I sold everything too. I just opened an ebay store, because I felt that people will get to know a seller when they have a continuous presence. But I am at a loss to know how to advertise, to get new customers. Ebay is so large, it is like the web, you can get lost in it. How do I market to stand out? and get people to see my little store among the thousands?
The same holds true for my website, I just got my website up and running, and could use marketing expertise on that too:)

You should think of a very hot/on-demand product to put on auction or on fixed price listed and not just in your store to drive traffic.
When I was starting out with ebay... big or small items, old or new, I always start with my bidding price really low.. that way you save listing fees.... and drives traffic
Another thing, subtitles can also help. And make sure you know where to categorize your item... that is very important!
You should accept Paypal payment and personal checks, this way you wont miss potential customers who would prefer to pay you by check.
If you have more questions.. let me know

Hi I am new to any kind of internet business but I would really like to (and need to) get started. I was wondering if someone could point me in a direction that I would not need to make an investment to start.
