West at Home hours questions?
A) Is there a minimum # of hours per week required? Could I only sign up for 15 hours a week for example?
B) If I want to take 3 weeks off each summer (for vacation) but work the rest of the year is OK?
Thanks!

Each project has different hours per month requirements. Most require 10-15 hrs per month. Also, as far as vacation you can take it when you want you just have to make sure to get your mandatory hours in for that month that you are taking the three weeks off so you do not get placed inactive on the skill.

Hi, I wanted to share with you some of my experience with west and I need was help also. Six months back I was hired by west to work for them. I went into training and I took the first test. As I click to finish it I experience a computer problem and for what ever reason I took the test twice and failed. Now up to that point, the job looked promising. Now I was on the phone and live chat for 8 hrs trying to find away to reset the training. HR said that is was possible to reset all i needed to do was email them. Well thats where it ended, at least i thought. I work part time during tax season and can't seem to find a job which is why I want to do work at home. Anyways Six months later I get a call from my case worker (had to go and get food stamps so I could eat, sad ah) saying that I was currently employed making $13/hr and that I work 20-25 hrs a week. Wow was I mad when she cancelled my food stamps. I can't seem to reach anyone at west, and I lost the HR number. I want to get this cleared up and end my employment with them. If anyone has there number please let me know.

rsoler--Congrats on your job with Cloud10, I'm glad you like them. I applied with them, too, and received an offer for a project today, which I declined due to a conflict with the hours specific to that project. Can you tell me a little bit about the company? Are they good to work for? How is the training? I'd appreciate any info you could give me! I applied to West in mid-January, filled out all my paperwork, and am still waiting for them. Doesn't look like that one will ever come through. Thanks for your help!

I have been with West for a long time. I trained for Toys r Us, Sears, GE and now got offered ProFlowers. I can't find any hours with any of these. And Sears is no longer with West as of a week ago. They dropped West. So, if you can find hours, wonderful, but don't expect this to be a lot of money. If there demand drops for a skill, then they can delete hours like mine. I signed up for hours and they sent email that they took all off due to low times.
Be aware if you find a skill with hours, that the hours will go up and down because there are 10,000 employees of West and you have to constantly check for hours. I know, because I have been here for over a year. I will be seeking outside job soon. I need a steady paycheck..and customer service with West for their employees is a joke. Sorry to speak the truth.

i currently work for west at home, i do cell phone service. I do 4 different departments for around 11 per hour. It's an alright job if your good at learning things on your own. The Team Lead's arent very helpful, and have no clue what their doing. I would do DR, but too much upselling... Is their any OTHER company's out their for work at home that you dont have to pay a signup fee for?

bookwurmee,
I am actually new with cloud10 I AM currently training for a project and is everything seems so smooth as of now. Like every job it takes time to learn the system after that...your golden. What I like about cloud10 is that they pay hr and offer many projects/pay hr and I was told today that although, I was offered only 30hrs per week after a few months with them they will offer overtime. so, I DO like the idea of having the flexibility of working 30hrs cause it gives leeway to have a partime as well. and maybe later on if i work the overtime I'd just fine. I ALSO found out that projects vary from 9-12hr so it is possible that after six months I will be offer the higher pay projects and after 60days on that project you get a 50 cents raise. Hope the info helps you. RO

Hi Rsoler,
Are they like West that you can work for another company. If I work for West and want to stay working for them I can also work for Cloud 10

Steph,
Here's the deal you do have to sign non compete form.. if you want to work for them but I said this....what you don't know won't hurt yu if you get my drift!! I no longer work for West I resign and end of story get it! West is very unstable according to my experience I cannot rely on projects being offered and then taken from me without notice which is exactly was West did to me! I DO not speak for everone I ONLY will said what I have experience in the year plus I HAVE worked for West. I need stability and steady income and cloud10 gives me that without exceptions. You choose what is best for you? I'm only here to tell you what I have experienced. I love cloud10 more communication more helpful wise and I feel more confidence because someone is always answering my questions as opposed to waiting on email response forever which is what west has done to me. STEPH,
The diffrence is Cloud10 pay by the hr after 6months you can request a diffrent project and they pay more by the hr opposed to min per rate which can be shaky if no calls you get minimum wage with West. I think that sucks! don't you! many times I found discrepancies with pay issues at West!

Steph,
To add a little to my previous message I'd like to say...Cloud10 offers projects varying from 9-12hr no less than that I have not seen that with West.

Steph,
Don't get me wrong surely West goes ahead and offers employees projects like Epic offering to pay 15.00 plus per hr but when you go make your schedule you will see no hours available to take? what kind of crap is that! I GAVE UP as I said before I'm LOOKING for stability and nothing less. West is shaky and you never know what you will get paid with them!

Can you all tell me what kind of phone and headset setup you're using? I seem to be having problems keeping my phone battery charged when I'm using the headset. I never had a problem before. I've tried a GE corded phone with a basic headset but the volume is so low, even when it's turned all the way up, I can't hear the person on the other line. Also, for West at Home Agents, what have you done when you've realized there are paycheck discrepencies? I've noticed it's been off by a few cents here and there. Is this typical of this company? I'm starting to rethink working for them. Any info on the phone and headset setup is much appreciated...thank you!

Regarding Cloud 10. I applied with them a few days ago. I am just waiting for the phone interview.
A- Anyone have info on what the interview questions are about?
B-I read about the non compete for West, Just wondering about other companies. I have a WAH job, but I work directly for the company (meaning my job is not outsourced) Will this be a problem?
Thanks in advance.
