I work on the GE they pay .17 per minute, schedule used to be posted a week in advance and you could easily set it but latley is dribbles out one day at a time. Certain days are busy, Monday used to be and it paid more but everybody worked it so it wasn't very busy.

I know those tech support positions are something else. When you figure how much time you have to put them and all the knowledge you have to absorb it really gets to you. Although I worked on site for Verizon and I was Tier 3 support we ended up handling all of Tier 1 and Tier 2 problems. I got so burned out and will never do technical support again no matter what it pays. Try parameds, it is an easy job just getting the medical records from the facilities and you are paid by case when the records come in. I really enjoy that, I am not constantly glued to the phone. I will do verafast at the end of the month. Fingerlakes contacted me last week but could not accept the job because it was day hours. Try them they were looking for people 1-6pm. They pay thru GURU. He said he would keep my file active so if they get a project for the evenings he would call me back. If all fails go back to West. That is why I did not take a position with Cloud 10, because you have to quit West first then they hire you and then if it does not work out you are out both ways. Alpine Access requires the same thing, so I did not pursue them either. Probably the best thing is not even mention you are working for West. Will keep my eyes and ears open and let you know if anything is out there.

I actually didn't go through with cloud10 and did alpine access instead, got a job that pays 10/hr plus bonuses if you have good productivity/show up/ quality rates, plus they send you a computer to use.

They are pretty good, my interviewer was great. You do have to resign before they can give you an actual project though. But they let you know if you are hired or not before you resign. So I resigned and my original project I interviewed for was filled already, but then I interviewed for another/better job so it worked out. You get the same interviewer every time, so you work with the same person, plus you get direct contact with them for any questions you might have, which is more than I can say about a few companies.
I did do an application before I worked for West but they did not have a local access number in my area. Then when I wasn't happy with West I decided to go on a whim and check Alpine again, and they had access numbers in my area. They are currently expanding a lot. So I put in another application and got a response right away. They are very good about turn around time.
I am currently doing all the paperwork and should start training next week.

I didn't really understand the access number thing, they do not have one that is accually local to me but I have unlimited long distance so wouldn't that be the same? Or do I have to wait until they have a number that really is local, because if thats the case they never will, not where I live.

TO all,
I turned down ALPINE ACCESS they required a credit check and my isn't too good so that's history for now! bummer! anyway just wasn't meant to be. besides I LIKE the idea of scheduling my own hrs and they don't give you that option! AND GUYS I APPLIED FOR WEST AGAIN AND WAS GIVEN THE PROFLOWERS SKILL. NOT SURE WHY PEOPLE ARE SAYING THEY ARE ON A FREEZING MODE CAUSE I GOT IN PRETTY FAST! maybe because i was working for them already. RO

I just reapplied at West. I applied back at the end of February. Hopefully, I will hear something from them. I am interested in doing inbound customer service and I want something where I can work a flexible schedule.

Why yes, Virginia, there is a DR PAL. The trick with the Time Life stuff, the $9.95 is only a 30 day preview fee. If the customer sends it back, they don't get billed anything more. 1. The other option is the preview fee, then purchase the set at 29.95 for 5 payments.
2. Or, waive the preview fee and get them to agree to the 5 payments w/out paying the ten bucks.
3. Preview fee, one payment.
4. No preview fee, one payment.
Other than that, trust your screens.

Laurensmomma,
If you are not getting hrs with DR consider resigning from that skill. You might get another offer for another skill RO

RO,
Have you ever heard of or had a test call? The other day I was working and a call came in and the lady said she was with west doing test calls and wanted to know if I was a work at home agent. I know you are supposed to say you are in a call center if someone calls and ask but if they say they are with west I didn't know what to do. I asked about it through chat and they said if they said test call then it was OK. What the ell is it?

OH,
Now they have got recurring schedule, you tell them the hours you want to work and they put them in for you every week, you can still go to spectrum and pick up more or trade and stuff but you have a set schedule already in for you.

Vagabond,

I guess right now it may just be for mine because I haven't heard of it for proflowers but I was talking to another lady that works for west and she said it used to be that way with all the skills before they went to employees so maybe they are gonna bring it back for all of them in time.

Vagabond,
I don't remember it being that way at all...and I've been with Wst way before the employee conversion. I don't know sometimes these pals say things that make no sense. Anyhow I hope that changes cause I like the flexibility of scheduling my own hrs. RO
