Hi I was just hired and am in training for V*U. Any tips or suggestions for remembering all that information would be greatly appreciated. Am I in over my head? The Or*cle site seems to have too much info to retain. How did you do it?

Yes I feel the same. I have taken lots of notes and screen shots of all the info covered. I'm really nervous but I have a sister who worked for V*M until recently and she said that its not difficult once we start taking calls and most of the stuff covered we want even use. Although that made me feel better I still feel overwhelmed.

hello school44 I have a question you said that you were just hire right? How long did it take to receive your welcome letter after faxing your paperwork to them? I sent my paperwork on the 22nd of July and still have not heared anything. I checked my application status and it says "Our records indicate that you have completed all necessary paperwork. The next action will be for HR to complete the hire process in our systems." Should I be worried? Thank you for all your help!

It was 4 or 5 days at least. I'm guessing you're fine. They wouldn't have asked for your paperwork if they weren't going to use you. Have you received any other e-mail from them that is personally from an Employment Specialist in HR -- something with someone's name on it? I had received one of those earlier and was able to e-mail them directly with a question. If you have any e-mail like that, you might try using that e-mail address to check your status with someone in HR.

I have not received anything yet from them. I have emailed them twice just to make sure they received my paper work but have gotten no response. I just don't want to miss out on this opportunity.

Sorry too take so long. Have been gone. I just finished my training a few days ago and took the test this morning.
I have Vista and it includes a program called Snipping Tool. I click the icon for it and it takes a screen shot of whatever I am looking at. Then I can save it to my hard drive and print it later.

Notes are excellent. It all seems really overwhelming in the beginning, but I think it will get easier with practice. I do my webinar on Wednesday afternoon, so we'll see how much actually sunk in from training.
Take lots of notes and also go back and review when you need to. I found there was plenty of time to cover everything and go back and review and read again. I think I had about 9 hours of training time left available that I didn't use. And I DID go back frequently to check on things I had questions about or to redo quizzes, games, scenarios, etc.
Take your time. You'll do fine.

School44, One last thing ...The tests have to be done before the training time expires , right? I only have 4 hours left for training and I haven't started the test yet, are they very long? Sorry to ask so much! Thanks

The test actually only took 10 or 15 minutes. It was not what I had expected. You'll do fine.

School 44 sorry, but I sent in my required paperwork on the 17 of July still have not heard a word, but someone did send me an email with their name on it. I believe it was my welcome email and for some reason when I opened the attachment it was just a blank piece of paper. I tried numerous times to write them about it but it seems I keep getting the same message which says HR will contact you within seven business days if not reopen the case or something like this I really don't know what to do. It's hard already, but thank goodness I found this forum or I would have been up the creek! Lost and confused I'll write them one more time the person who sent me the email, and if no reply then I'm through just forget it they'll contact me whenever they get time I guess just sick and tired of waiting.......waiting...waiting.. and still no response it's overwhelming seriously! I hope anyone else that is having this problem don't give up but just have faith it'll come through my motto is everything happens for a reason maybe something better will come along when I do start and I'll be thanking god for going through this tough time with West!!!!

Hi Kllyfy,
So sorry to hear about so many problems. The welcome letter I received by email did not include an attachment. It had a link to go to the training site and get registered. The email included my User ID which was used to set up a password at the training site. Once I had registered and logged on, I was given a choice of 2 skills. I selected one and then began training. I wish I could be more help, but I am completely new, too. I would definitely send an e-mail to the person you mentioned and explain the situation, but I think you should check those e-mails again, too. If you received the Welcome letter, I don't think an attachment would be included, unless yours was different from the one I received. It would just have links to follow, like the e-mail we got for the forms to fill out.
Best of luck to you. I hope you can get started soon.

Excellent! I knew you would do great! The webinar was really good. I had mine on Wednesday and it pulls those last few threads together. Also, realized from doing it, that we actually went through a lot of the training that the AYS does, so we will only be using a limited amount of what we have learned in our skill. I'm actually looking forward to it. I will enjoy being able to help people.

Kllyfy, if you are still having trouble, make sure you are using Internet Expl. and that your firewall is disabled - I had the same problem in the beginning.
