West is currently on a hiring freeze. I received an email yesterday stating that they have currently met their hiring needs. I was also told to check my email within the next months because new opportunities may become open for current applicants.

I guess I will have to continue waiting. Is there anyone else still waiting?

It depends. What state do you live in? West no longer hires in some states due to the minimum wage laws. Give me a couple of days, and I can tell you whether or not you are in a hiring state. I think you may not be, because we are getting agents calling that just finished training. I am on vacation till Saturday, then I can get to my mail in the office.

Wyldkat,

Are you a pal at west? The reason I ask is you say you can get to your e-mail and check on hiring states and getting calls from agents.

Just curious

wyldkat,

I gues I'm wondering the same thing Vagabond, is? Are you a West Pal because you seemed to have more info of Wst than the average employee posting msgs on this forum? If you are I think we should know don't you?

yeah, I am. It is only fair to you to know that. Hey, if you guys feel we don't need to be in here let me know. I wouldn't be offended. Thing is, we have one DR pal who we continually have to clean up after. She gives out bad info on a daily basis. Thing is, she gets caught, and no one does a thing about it. Anybody wanna guess who that could be? 3 guesses and I could tell you. I usually am the one cleaning the crap up after her. Anyhoo, if I am welcome here, I will tell you what I can. If not, good luck with West.

I could use a pal myself. I did always wonder though if the pals start out as call agents and then become pals or if they just start as pals. Some of them act like they have no idea what you are talking about when you ask them a question, then again, some are great, just like everyone else I suppose.

Wyldkat,

Vagabond is right some pals are not helpful at all..I don't know of dr pals because i don't have that skill. I had sears and they left wst...and now i have proflowers. I do however, have had my share of sears pal giving info i could get on Frequent asked ?s..which certainly, was no help at all. I love wst don't get me wrong I just wish I could communicate more in-depth to get answers.. for example why is it that we need to wait for invitations as opposed to requesting like we use to be able to do before...no one can give me a clear answer on that. A while ago I failed VM and wanted to request a second chance to take the test and no one could tell me who to address the question too? It can be really frustrated with certain things we become concerned of and never get answers.

Wyldkat, I'm extremely new so what do I know but I certainly don't have a problem with you or any PALs being here.

I'm not here to post negative comments or judge people but to learn and also develop as much of a "co-worker" relationship as I can with other people who are doing the same thing I am. I'm hoping that this is a place where that can happen as opposed to several other bitter message boards I've come across and I'm all for anyone who has honest questions or accurate information speaking his or her mind.

Some of the DR PALS did start out as agents. I and a few others were hired off the street. It is in the brick and mortar sites only however. Sadly, we do have a couple that really shouldn't be doing that job. Worse? They started out as call taking agents.

Well, I really just meant in general, I don't work on DR but I have see some of the other pals that are pals on several different skills so I was just wondering, as I said, some are great, some clearly do not want to be my PAL.

Sometimes, we will give you info that is in the faq because you may be on a call, and you don't have time to go look it up. If anyone in DR has spoken to me, I tend to show you how to find it if you are not in call. Sometimes I tell you to go look for the answer when you have time to. As for waiting for a new skill as opposed as asking, I really don't know anything other than they changed it after everyone went to employee status. We ARE left in the dark on some stuff. I don't know much about other skills, but with DR you have to wait 6 months to retrain on it, but can still get invitations to train on other skills.

When I do have an answer to a question, I will answer them. I hope I can be of help.

I'm not here to do that either, and that is the end of another pal's work. If Rosemary is in here, you know who the problem is. I will do my best to help only. We will see how we work.

Some don't that is true. Sometimes, we have a lot of issues with the software and we do get frustrated. So, for the lot, I apologize for the shortness of some of ours. As for me, and my last vacation day, I must get to finishing cleaning the living room. What a vacation, spent it cleaning. Yik.

I appreciate any and all honest answers so thank you. I think it might have made everyone a little nervous that we were being watched or something, but we need information, that is why we are here. If we do complain about something on occasion please don't take it personally.

Actually, I am watching. But not that West knows about. I just like to know what you guys think, and what we could do better. And if I have info, I will share that with you. I am only here to assist, and do so in a non-formal environment, and I can share opinions here. I can't do so when I am on the phone or chat with you. So, let 'er rip, and we will see what we get. If I see something about West, or the way it works, I won't be offended. I have some views that they would not appreciate. So, for the time being, I am simply Wyldkat.

Wyldkat,

I have a couple of questions about west. First, how many states does west have actual "brick and mortar" offices in? Second, does each office take call from a specific area or does every office take calls from every area? In other words, if I call and get a pal in FL does that mean I will always get a pal in FL or that next time I may get a pal in NY?

I didn't think it was a loaded question, it wasn't a trick question I just wanted to know if I was getting a different office every time I called because it would explain why, if I had to call back the same day they never knew what I was talking about.
Sorry.
