Advertising offline works as well. You can use your community newspapers or even put a banner at the back of your car as well. this way, pople will see your web address whenever you are driving.

Well using the short link helps with the tracking. That way you can see where your traffic is coming from. That's one way to track.

Okay here a tip for your go to http://socialmarker.com and sign up for a free account and bookmark your site at all the social sites and you will get some traffic. Another thing you can do is directory summit your site.

For promoting your website and getting more traffic use the following methods directory submission, link exchange, blog commenting, forum posting etc...

I have found very little luck with directories , to be honest i think that they have seen their day, Go for quality over quantity and you will always win.
