I am just discovering the world of PING and as ever the options are endless. So, I thought I ask for the low down from those in the know.
What are you favourite PING sites?
How many sites do you PING with?
Any other top tips and tricks share?
Thanks
J

I like submitting my rss feeds to rss directories and that way the ping goes out whenever something is edited or added.
My wordpress sites get pinged automatically whenever I add a post and I honestly don't know if it is good or bad to ping them more than once , like on different 'pingers' .

The same with Wordpress sites, this function is already set in the Writing Settings in the dashboard, I added some extra links there, here are 2 additional - really great ones:
http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping
http://ping.feedburner.com
For my non-WP sites I use pingomatic.com and pingoat.com
They are huge pinging machines

Hi,
Thanks for sharing your tips they are very useful indeed to me!
I am still struggling to get my Wordpress Blog out there as it's not yet hosted by myself! Does it need to be hosted by myself in order for me to ping effectively?
I have used Pingomatic in the past but recently I have been experiencing difficulty in inputting my URL. Has anyone else? Has anyone been able to solve this?
Thanks again!

I use Ping Machine.
I use it every time I need my page/sites indexed or sites/pages with backlinks to my sites indexed.
The neat thing with this software is, you don't have to ping each link manually, and you can ping MULTIPLE services at once.
Hands down, this is the fastest, easiest, simplest way to get all your pages / backlinks indexed as quickly as possible.
Warning: Use proxies if you're planning on sending more than 20 pings a day.
Here are the list of services I use:
http://api.moreover.com/RPC2 http://audiorpc.weblogs.com/RPC2 http://blogpeople.net/ping http://blogsearch.google.ca/ping/RPC2 http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2 http://blogsearch.google.es/ping/RPC2 http://blogsearch.google.us/ping/RPC2 http://feedsky.com/api/RPC2 http://hamo-search.com/ping.php http://ping.blogoon.net/ http://ping.fc2.com/ http://ping.kutsulog.net/ http://ping.namaan.net/rpc http://ping.syndic8.com/xmlrpc.php http://rpc.blogrolling.com/pinger/ http://rpc.reader.livedoor.com/ping http://rpc.twingly.com/ http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2 http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates http://xping.pubsub.com/ping/
