I just bought 2 domain names.

The one that I want to be my main site is workathomelegit.net.

The other domain is workathomelegit.org.

What should I do with the .org domain?

Do I set it up to redirect to my main site?

Do save for later to create a different site?

Should I use AdSense for domains on it?

I have no idea. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Why not use one for a lead capture site - or even a blog - set up a blog where you can add fresh content weekly and redirect your domain to that?

There's no end to what you can do with domains as you can redirect them to other sites.

I think that you should set up a lead capture page for one of your domains.

Have a newsletter to develop a realtionship with your visitors is one of the most important thing you can implement in your business.

Hmm, I'm just curious......why did you buy 2 domains in the first place if you didn't know what you were going to do with them?

For now I'd probably just redirect the .org one to the .net one. or vice versa, until I decided on a better use for the extra one...

I too am curious about the purchasing of two domains? It's not a bad idea by any means, just feel we here in the forum are interested in helping which direction your headed with them!!

Thanks for the input Homeboy and bdkfreedom!

I puchased the .net domain and then started looking for a good host. The host that I chose offered 1 free domain for a year with signup. Anyway, I had the .net and got the .org so noone else would.

What to do with it now...

Hi Philip,

You could use each site for a different sub-niche. You could also create a traditional static site on one and a blog on the other.

For example, you could use one as an information site with Adsense and the occasional link leading to the other site. The other one could be a review site with affiliate links.

Try not to let the secondary site be too much of a distraction. Focus on your main site. You can mull over the use of the second site over time.

Another option is to use the .org as a training site. You can experiment with it without worrying about making mistakes. You can see how things work. When you feel you have learned enough, you can move on to the .net site with more confidence.

After you move onto creating the "real" site, you can still figure out uses for your .org - perhaps perpetual experimentation or something entirely different.
