Hi all,

I am pleased to say that I just had my first sale today as an affiliate!
It has taken me about a month and a half of marketing through all free techniques.

How long did it take you to have your first sale?

About three weeks, but with paid advertising you can get sales the same day...

TshirtFrank,

Congrats on your first sale... and only after six weeks using free techniques. Good for you!
It took me four whole months to get my first affiliate sale, an online marketing lifetime ago.
You beat my record.

I got my first sale on day one, and not it was not friends or family, you see because the company I am partnered with does most of the marketing and then when a customer purchases from them, I can buy the lifetime rights to that customer and earn comissions.

It really does save all the hassel and expences of finding customers and what is more even after the customer is "sold" to be the company carry on marketing and delivering products to my customer.

I do tend to do some work with my customers, but its fair easier to sell more items to an existing customer,

I used to work offiline in direct sales, knocking on doors and know that once you build a customer relationship you will earn more money. I used to see people every few months and they were always expecting me and keen to buy. now its the same online.

Let the experts do the promotion.

Absolute congratulations! Bells and whistles are ringing!

I'm very new, but have been attempting to learn for a couple of months now.

Can you comment on what action you felt gave the best bang? And, not paid ads. THX S

I just took 4 months for me to make one sale. I can still remember that sale. I was paid $10 as commission by CJ. I am not a pro in affiliate, but I wish you become a great affiliate in the days to come... Good luck

I just made mine today as well!!! It took me about 5 weeks, but I did not work on it everyday, I have to admit. I'm a student, so I don't have a lot of time on my hands unfortunately.

While it will take more or less time for different people to make their first online sale, the accomplishment should be celebrated primarily as proof that one can make money online.

The number of days, weeks or months it takes to reach that milestone should be viewed purely as a statistic. It's not necessarily a reflection of how marketing savvy you are, or are not.

The person who makes a sale the first day will be headed for disappointment if s/he expects that conversion rate to continue with consistency. And the person who struggles for four months, should not become discouraged because it took so long.

Everyone starts from where they are, in terms of knowledge, experience, skills, ambition, discipline, product selection and so on. Consequently, personal progress, development and success will occur at different rates.

What's important is to remain objective as you try to understand your product, your market and your role in bringing the two together.

I think that the combination of writing articles and having a powerful landing page helped me get these, now, first couple of sales. Again I am also very new to this business but have learned that submitting articles is a great way to generate traffic.

This is very encouraging news since I too am new to this. Been thinking that maybe I was just a "loser" and wasn't going to get anywhere, (been well over a month now)! So after reading this post, I will stick it out awhile longer.

Congratulations. It's a good feeling isn't it? I got my first sale of $48 after a couple of days but I probably just got lucky. It can take a while but you need to stick with it. Keep putting the effort in and those sales will come.

First of all, Congratulation~

You made it within a month? Wow, Impressive..

It' reminds me when I made my first sales couple months ago~

I had same excitement that you are having now^^

Keep it up, with free marketing strategy.~

Once you get steady sales, YOu can step forward to google adword

marketing as affiliate marketer.

I believe you can, Because even I am doing it (Not native speaker..)

Happy day~^^

It took me more than 2 months to get my first sale promoting real estate related ebook using article marketing. Can't really describe the feeling in words.

I agree fully with this.

well my first sale was actually at the same time my first subscription and it was done on day 1 .

I remeber it as it were today (although its already 3 months ago). It was done during my next day at work, I just opened my wallet with about 150 perfume samples and my collegue sitting at he desk opposite me was so carried away by the smell that she made the first order and thel later in that day she changed it to a subscription!

Took me about 4 months before my first sale with my affiliate link but I didn't get any payment because the buyer requested for a refund after looking at it for about 3 weeks....
