Yes. Check out Google Analytics. All you need to do is install the script on your site and you will get detailed information about traffic to your site.

Depends on what you want to track.
For website usage google analytics works great.
For affiliate marketing tarcking202pro works great, but if you do direct-linking go with prosper202.

I use Statcounter.
It is free and very easy to use.
I prefer statcounter to Google analytics.

Hi Sally,
As you say, you're a newbie. I would recommend StatCounter:

Once you go the paid hosting route you will probably also have free access to AWStats. It comes with most of the quality hosting services.
After you gain some experience and feel that you're into the intermediate range, you might try Google Analytics.
The reports are many and it can be overwhelming for a newbie to look at but for someone who has had a good deal of exposure to stats reports for a time, it's a useful tool.
As an aside - If you start a free Squidoo lens, you'll have a back end dashboard that is quite simple. Squidoo is free and you might want to create some lenses (pages) once you have your online marketing fundamentals down fairly well.

I prefer Google analytics myself. You can get a complete report on each phase of your tracking. It dissects it quite well.

Google analytics... what a beauty. There are also some javascript "hacks" for google analytics. Well i liked it when they were "hacks", untill google adopted it too.
Now its not as cool
