Whenever you send an email to someone, include your website url as a signature.
Keep updating content on your websites/blogs... try at least once per week, if not twice.
Tag blog posts at social bookmarking sites. Sign up to Onlywire.
Add pictures to your blog with appropriate keywords.
Add a bookmark option to your website/blogs - one at the top and one at the bottom.
Try to get links from websites within your niche with a high pr (pagerank). The more one-way links (inbound links/backlinks) you have to your website, the higher your pr will become.
Offer something for FREE.
Start a publicity campaign, do something that individuals in your niche will be interested in.
If a niche related forum that you frequently visit allows signatures, then make sure to add your website url in there.
Write and ping blog entries. Always make sure to link back to your website with your blog posts. Try making multiple blogs and have them all link back to one main site.
Sign up to Twitter.
Encourage your readers to subscribe to your rss feeds.

I think "how do I get more traffic" must be the most asked question in marketing/SEO forums.
The thing is, the question is not the correct one to ask. most of the time I find that what the site owner actually needs to ask is "how do I CONVERT more traffic".
Focus on increasing the conversion rate of the visitors you have, that is far more focused than trying to grab traffic from all over the place. ONce your conversion rate is good, THEN go after more traffic.

In my case, I do visit each day in some blogs and leave comments there but make sure it is substantial. Also, try to post in social media sites and participate in forums regularly

Hi Isabella,
I would also add making some interesting short videos about what you do and how you can help or how much fun it is.
Post them on Youtube, TubeMogul and other video sharing sites.
Afterwards you can also bookmark the videos.
You can use a simple camera with a movie recording option for a start

It seems like you have been active with various free sources, it may be time to invest in some paid traffic. Combining free with paid could take your business to the next level you are seeking.
There's not magic one traffic method, but combining a couple of good ones can be very rewarding.

I would use Pay Per Click advertising. This is one of the most effective ways to generate traffic and sales.

Do everything above over and over again until your brain melts.
Then have a sleep and do it all again the next day.
Promoting your website in most cases is boring repetitive work. ENTER the freelancer!
I farm out my ad posting etc to reliable freelancers. I freelance too, but as a writer and ad copy specialist. I use that money to get people to post my ads for me.
I make sure I get a full report of the ads urls and I check them randomly, if the poster cheats they don't get paid.
You can get a lot done for $5 or less.
Good luck

talfighel: I would use Pay Per Click advertising. Hi! Anyone have any thoughts on how effective PPC is for getting traffic to a squeeze page?
I'm familiar with Google Adwords and I understand how critical the ad title and wording has to be, but I've not considered using it for squeeze-page traffic before.
I'd be very grateful for any advice!
Thanks & Regards, Mark.

Hi Isabella, If your having trouble with conversion, you may want to consider outsourcing for a template. There are a lot of great sites out there with good deals, even some freebie's. Than you could give away something free to get people interested, and use an autoresponder if you don't already have one, build yourself a list.
It's hard to give advice, when you're not sure what stage someone is at. I hope it helps!
Good Luck!!

So Isabella you have a business. Can you calculate the life time worth of a lead? If you have that value you can use a CPA company to generate leads for you and pay like 10% of the life time value of the customer (or as much as you can pay per lead on a short term basis) every time they get you a lead.

Getting traffic is the name of the game. It requires you to be persistent in continually doing things to drive the traffic. For me, I have found it to be an easier job by doing things that I enjoy and staying away from the things I dont. For instance, I loathe writing articles so I do not use that form of marketing very often.

Getting traffic to your website is worthless if you are not getting traffic that is specifically looking for the product you are promoting.
I would first suggest you optimize your website content to make sure you have the keywords or phrase your business represents at least 3-4% of your content to increase your traffic. I.E. For every 100 words on your webpage 3-4 of those words should be "Tarot Readings Ireland"/ Targeting your keywords will increase your search engine rankings which means more traffic.
Also increase your backlinks... i.e. other websites that hyperlink back to your website.

An easy way to increase your websites traffic would be to link exchange with other tarot reader websites. Have a search through google and contact the top ranking ones and ask them for a link exchange. Alternatively you could signup with linkmarket.net and exchange links with related websites that way. The outcome will be that google will see your link on these related websites and boost your pagerank and search engine position very quickly.
