Hello Forum!,
This is my first post here and I wanted it to be informative. When you go to submit your website to Google, it can take the bot several weeks to crawl your website.
Google was smart in the way they did this because that makes it so they can present an opportunity on the back-end. I think they charge you like 300$ or something and they will crawl it inside like the next week.
Well that seems silly when Google has built us a backdoor to have our pages crawled IMMEDIATELY . All you have to do is tell the bot to go there. Please read on .
This is the method ALL top online marketers use.
Step 1: Make sure you are not logged into a Google account.
Step 2: Go to google and type in "Keyword Tool". It should be the first link.
Step 3: In the left column it will say How would you like to generate keyword ideas?. Underneath that check the box that says Website Content.
Step 4: The middle box should now say Enter a webpage URL to find keywords related to the content on the page. This is where you will enter the URL for your website.
Step 5: Right underneath where you enter your website, check the box that says Include other pages on my site linked from this URL.
Step 6: (almost done =]). Click "Get Keyword Ideas". The Google bot is now crawling your website !.
Please Note: This sometimes takes two tries to get it to work correctly. If the bot comes back with a long list of keywords underneath where you pushed the Get Keyword Ideas button, it worked correctly!.
Happy Marketing =]!

Neat trick. Are you sure that it's really being "crawled" and indexed in the traditional sense this way?
I was just thinking that it would be possible for Google to dispatch a bot specifically for keyword retrieval that doesn't necessarily "report back to HQ".
Great idea, though.

Wow! haven't heard that one. Sounds like a great idea. I had to make a note of this.
I just tried it with several URLs, with and without the "http://"
Kept getting:
"Unable to access the URL. We're sorry, but we can't seem to access the URL. Please make sure you have entered the URL correctly. Or, begin the keyword generation process again by entering a different URL."

Hi Matt,
Welcome to the forum and thanx for contributing your indexing tip.
Some of the heavy hitters also like to use Twitter and other Web 2.0 platforms to accomplish the same.
Recently Philip (wahl2008) - a friendly and helpful forum member also suggested subscribing to your own RSS feed. I thought that idea was pretty creative. The discussion is here:

He also added something to set up a double play - and lower in the thread - how to monitor the success here:

I'm glad everyone seems to like it =]. I did see what Phillip posted thanks for the post though!.
I am sure it is indexing your site and "reporting back to hq". With in a few hours your site will have a fresh index on it =]. It works for all of my websites.
It's nice meeting everyone =]
Edit: Marktech, I am not sure why you keep running into that problem. When I do it i personally just do it as http://whateveryourwebsiteis.com I do not put the www. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not though.
It is a useful thing for marketers though. I'd try a few more times to get it working if I was you =]

Great info. Thanks for sharing.
I just tried it and it worked for some and not for others.
I got this error message for some: We're sorry, but we're unable to generate relevant keywords for this webpage.

Hi Rhonda,
Try using the "www." out in front and it may work. Are you trying it out for each page of your site or for several different sites? Is it the site in your link?

That is what is supposed to happen. It is a keyword tool for adwords. However, when you use it to search a website for keyword ideas, the google bot goes out and crawls it.
Let me know if you have any questions! =]
