When reviewing the cbengine data what should I really be looking for as far as market parameters? On the right side it has "Find a Product" section. Is there any specific numbers we should use as guidelines? Thanks.

The products will be sorted by popularity, so the higher the ranking, the better. After you click on a product to get more information, look for a stat called "Gravity". A general guideline to use is to promote products with at least a gravity of 20. However, if the gravity is below 20, the product still may convert - but you need to evaluate the sales page of the product to make that determination. In other words, if you were someone who might be interested in that product, would you buy it or would the sales page turn you off and make you go elsewhere?

Somewhere I read that you should look for a Gravity of about 100. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks.

Well, the higher the gravity the better, but it doesn't have to be at least 100.
When I originally published my ebook on Clickbank, after selling about 10 copies, my gravity was something like .58, but that didn't mean my ebook didn't sell, so a low gravity doesn't always tell the true story.

I have a question about affiliate marketing that sort of pertains to your discussion here. I am a newbie, currently signed up with clickbank. I know how to research different products, seeing their popularity, gravity etc. My question is what are the ways people are promoting these products? Are you starting actual websites on a couple of products you have chosen, adding a banner to your current website, starting a blog on product, a squidoo lens, etc.???? I have my own website, many blogs, etc so i am very familiar with doing those things. Thanks in advance for any info!

Hi BDK,
One, some, all of the above, and/or something entirely different.
You can do it however you want and the specific ways you've mentioned are all common avenues.
It works out best if you've actually tried and like the product you are presenting. It'll show in your writing and if you can describe how you've personally benefited from using it, you'll increase your conversion rate potential quite a bit.
