I had started a wordpress blog about a year ago. As usual i promoted it. I've also placed a few affiliate links in some of the posts. Recently when i change the password of the contol panel, i'm unable to open the account. The blog displays that it has been suspended.

The message is as follows: "This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service."

The blog has already got PR3. I'm shocked to see the blog suspended.

Can anyone analyze the wrong that happened?

Should i start again with the blog? Any recommendations ?

Wordpress does not allow you to place ANY advertising or affiliate links in their blogs... UNLESS... you get your own domain name and hosting. Could that be what happened?

You can try removing the links and ask them to unsuspend your blog.

Always host your own blog, so no one can just cancel your blog like that suddendly.

The same happened to me after achieving a page rank of 2. I wasn't impressed, but it was exactly for that reason of advertising. I asked them to let me copy the blog onto my hard drive so that I could at least save my article I had written. (I know, I was naughty and hadn't saved them!)
They did which was very nice. Now I'm hosting my blog as part of my hosted website. I had to start from scratch as I changed the approach totally and you can view the results in my sig file.
Take care
Monika

If it was hosted on Wordpress.com, then they suspended you for violating their TOS. Wordpress.com doesn't allow you to have ads on any blogs that they host.

Your best bet is to get your own domain name and hosting plan, and install Wordpress yourself. You can ask Wordpress if they can give you a dump of your old blog so that you can restore all your posts and such to your new blog. If you can get a similar domain name to what you had before that would be helpful, and then work on rebuilding your traffic. You can issue a press release about your new blog, and also if you had advertised it in forums and such you can make announcements there too.

That's a bad hit, but you can recover.

Get your own domain name, it very cheap and you will not have to depend on anyone

Will Blogger also suspend those who do advertising on blogspot?

To clarify,

Wordpress.com allows NO affiliate links (sometimes you can get away with it)

Wordpress.org allows affiliate links because you'll have your own domain name and hosting!

Blogger doesn't mind advertising! Have at it!

(After all, Google is an advertising company)

Thanx for the advice. I've got my own domain name and webhosting.

Where did you get your hosting from? I am searching for good hosting companies

I got an affordable web hosting service from HOSTMONSTER. It allows you to host unlimited domains. Moreover it's service is GOOD. I would truly recommend it.

I am also using Hostmonster for some sites, their service is OK, but you have to enable stats for each site separately
