kane1976: pingomatic.com is already added by default to the update services section under writing settings. So every post you make will automatically ping it. And every EDIT. Edit often and add a bit or byte of information to ping. Google loves a good update, actually ANY update.

Just a quick update. My blog dropped in the search engines, but I managed to get it back to 2nd page. Did a bit of article writing and bam....got my main site to 1st page for "ironwork". I've been pretty consistent with articles, I also use socialadr. Now, I get a ton of calls! Business is picking up steady. I'm actually finding it difficult to keep up, which is a great thing nowadays. I see a lot of brick and mortar businesses shutting down. I am blessed. And thanks for all the insight guys. I will continue to work on the blog. Literally haven't had time to update but I will make it a priority.

I just had to re-read this topic since Jose posted on the Fiverr thread. Figured this thread must have some really good tips since he did so well. But what really made the difference was applying what he learned. Too many of us "know" what works but seldom practice it that well. I'm so impressed with his progress I'd hire him to do my websites. It was his Ironwork that impressed me before, now it's content. His descriptions of his photos and work adds a lot to searches. Very balanced and shows his passion for his creations. Thanks for sharing your journey with us Jose. It should inspire a lot of people to succeed.

Thanks for the kind words!, I am no website designer, but had a lot of input into what went on during the design process. I've actually gotten some feedback that the site might be a bit too busy, but then again content is king and i made sure i had alot of that. I got the blog back up to first page so now i have 2 sites on first for the keyword "Ironwork". Its great, I got alot of insight from my peers (you guys & others) and i havent even implemented a third of what i learned.
I have my own seperate marketing blog now, so soon ill hopefully be able to fill it up with content and videos about what i do to get me where i'm at these days. I've had it for awhile but I didnt want to just "talk", now I have the "proof", hopefully i can help others reach new highs online. Only drawback is that i am now so busy its hard to keep up, but the positive energy i have these days keeps me going. It's amazing.

Try writing articles with long tail keywords, and do you're keyword research with adwords before writing them because, long tail keywords are much easier to get rank in just find keywords related to you're website that dont get to much competition, it should be easy to to get rank with website you're using though.

Jose Roman
Hi Jose, follow this steps and in less than one week you will have traffic to your blog.
ON-PAGE SEO CHECKLIST: Keyword in domain? If not, keyword in URL? Keyword in meta-title? Keyword in meta-desription? Keyword in meta-keywords? Keyword in page/post title? Keyword have H1, H2, H3 heading in body? Keyword density > 2% in post? Image required. Image ALT text have keyword phrase? Use "no-follow" on external links? Keyword in body emphasized with bold, italics, underline?
OFF-PAGE: Anchor-text backlinks from other sites which are popular. All external posts you make are for the purpose of creating anchor-text back-links to your page.
KEYWORD RESEARCH: Exact match search in Google Keyword Tool External shows that there are at least several hundred searches/mo. Search in Google for "keyword" (with quotes) is 50K or less results. allintitle: keyword phrase search in Google has less than 10K results
STEPS: 1.) Write and post your post to your blog/site with on-page SEO in place
2.) Write and submit press release to the following directories then move on to step 3 in 7 to 10 days:
http://pressexposure.com/ http://newsreleaser.com/ http://www.freepressrelease.com/ http://ideamarketers.com/ http://www.yourfreepressrelease.net http://www.pressreleasecirculation.com
3.) Write relevant articles or convert your press release into and article, spin it manually, or with Free Traffic System or Article Marketing Robot and Submit to Blogs/Blog networks, Blog Comments
http://www.freetrafficsystem.com/ Your own private Web 2.0 blogs Wordprss.com Blogger.com MyArticleNetwork.com (paid) SEOLinkVine.com (paid) Article Marketing Robot (paid - highest recommend)
I know it will help
Best regards Luis Villasana

Getting traffic to a new blog is what we all want.
A great way to get traffic quick is to seek out blogs in your niche that already get a lot of traffic and then comment on their articles. Most comment sections will link back to your blog/site with your name.
So make sure to write a quality/relevant comment and try to be the 1st to comment if you can because many will see your post. Comment Sniper works well for this.
Getting your site ranked organically in the search engines is what I like.
Organic SEO all starts with great on-page SEO and LUIS outline it beautifully for you.
After you have your on-page set up now its time to get those links.
You will want this to look natural in the eyes of Google so be careful about going too heavy too fast.
Also, you will want link diversity and high quality links. So make sure all of your links aren't coming from one source. Mix them up... forums, articles, videos, comments, sponsored, etc.
Some sources that have worked well for me for links are..
ezArticleLink AMR (dripping content out gradually using the scheduler) SponsoredReviews.com I also buy links from sources that were recommended to me.
Hope his helps!
In Success, Howie Perks

All great advice Jose. Do exactly what has already been explained to you in this post AND then submit your site to DMOZ directory. Will do especially well for you because you are trying to establish an off-line venture which they probably don't get enough of. The DMOZ directory is human reviewed and it is the oldest "authority site" which Google still pays attention to. Do those things and you will out rank your competition in a shortest time possible.

Research and choose some low competitive keywords and start to build backlinks behind those keywords. This will help you to rank well in search engines and eventually help you to get organic traffic.

Thanks.
I'm just glad there are still people who are generous with their knowledge and willingly share it with other people without asking for anything in return. I have always believed that good things you do for others will always come back to you one day with bigger returns. I just hope I can understand everything you have outlined here Luis. I'm old school you see. Even college kids know more than me when it comes to computers and the internet. Neverthe less I 'll give it my best shot

Hi All
I have had some success with Craiglist. This is free to post. It will allow you to post same ad in different categories and counties if you don't do it every day.
I am going to try a JV, but need to do some more reading on how it works first.
I must say this is good fun - learning a new skill and meeting new people.

I read that you don't have to ping after you post a blog if you are using wordpress it does it automatically (through pingomatic). Apparently you can add sites to ping to their list. Is this the same for Google's blogger?

A lot of people believe if they create a Blog it will become successful overnight. Unfortunately that is further from the truth than you may realize. Submitting a Blog online is like dropping a penny in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Your chances of being found are slim to none. Hire a professional SEO company to assist you with your Blog Marketing.

Try traffup.net if you have a Twitter account. All you do is retweet other's tweets or view websites to rack up points, then spend those points on retweets to your site. It's a real easy way to get a lot of traffic. Just don't expect to be flooded with sales - 'cause Twitter traffic doesn't convert well - but it's good for SEO.
