Prepare best quality 10 articles and submit it to more than 500 article directories. You will add your website link on about author part. This plan will increase link popularity of your website. You will get lot of one way link.

Article post robot seems like a good program though i have not use it before.
Quality articles will drive traffic, if not submitting articles only create backlinks
Article marketing alone can be a very powerful tool

I have just recently started with the article submission.....I wanted to know is it really effective and how do you drive the traffic to your website....Does it depend on your subject of the article.....I would be more than happy if I get some suggestions...

It is very effective, because it creates quality backlinks that google just loves. It is also long lasting, so write a good article, doesn't have to be long, but make it feature rich with relevant keywords. It has helped me alot.

find a quality article submission service, Isnare.com works well, but they can be a little slow due to the amount of submissions they receive. I use articlemarketer, I like all of the features they offer, and they will even write articles for you. I write all of my own stuff, but it is an option you could look into

You're right, you won't get the same link power from this as you would from 100 unique articles.
On the other hand, if you're writing your articles to encourage people to clickthru to your website, then you have 100 different places that someone might see your article and end up on your website.
Think of the backlink power as the icing, getting targeted traffic from people who read your articles is the cake.
