I heard about so called Article Exchange Sites and it sounds very interesting. However, it seems to be little bit expansive (from what I have learned it is at least $ 100.00 monthly) unless you have couple sites and are very serious about this. Anybody knows of any free article exchange sites?
Regards

mountainmom5: $100 a month? ouch I found "something" that has both free and paid option and just from reading it makes whole a lot of sense but I want first to test it and see if it really works. Might take few weeks though.
Regards,

Anything to do with article marketing, I would not spend too much time using this technique to drive traffic to your site.
I still think that Pay per click is the best strategy when it comes to getting as much targeted traffic to your site.
I really think that too many people spend too much time on articles each and every week and when nothing happens, they throw everything over board and quit.
I really think that article marketing should only be 5% of your traffic generations online.
Don't spend too much time with it and again, focus more on PPC.

Thank You for your insights. Do You think that I could still benefit from PPC considering that my site citronella collar is small site that is already on First Page, 1st position on all 3 major search engines for main term: Google, Yahoo and MSN and already getting fair amount of search traffic out there?
Thank You.

Hi lejla,
It's great that you are getting some good traffic to your site already. I did a search for the term "dog citronella collar" and I found your site on the third page of the search results (around about 25).
Is that the keyword you believe you are ranking in the first position for?
Regardless, page 3 isn't bad! But, one way to get more traffic for free is to do some keyword research related to your site theme and add more content about those phrases. Instead of having 1 hook, every single page can be a hook to rank in the search engines for you.
You may discover that the phrase "how to stop barking dog" or something like that is searched for heavily but without a lot of competition. (I doubt it, but I'm just using this as an example).
You would then add a page to your site about "How To Stop Barking Dog" and then you can be found for that term too.
The more content you add to your site that is based on good keyword research related your niche topic, the more free targeted traffic you are likely to get.
As your site ages, the traffic will continue to grow and grow. I rarely ever submit articles to directories, etc. I'd rather add the content to my own sites and build MY business instead of that of the article sites.
Blessings, Angie

Hi Happywife,
Now this is a (bad) news!! ) According to "Traffictravis" DogCitronellaCollar is on Google page one first position for key word "dog citronella collar" which has some 12,000 monthly searches. I have the same result if I search on Google, Yahoo and Bing and from different computers. Can somebody else do the same search and advise what result you get?
You are right about targeting new key words. However, this is small Sniper model site with very good "on site optimization" for the main key-word which is one of the reasons to rank higher for that key word. It takes much longer to rank higher for new key word than to make new sniper site around that word. And it is pretty good model if somebody considers flipping sites.
As to the traffic it is far from good ) I wish I have a thousand daily visitors but considering the size and the model it follows it is where the system creators said it should be.
Thanks for the tips!

Love these post with so many opinions and thats how I learn. I don't use PPC and my traffic is free because I built a lot of keyword focus content pages and backlinks that push my rankings up. It takes time to build a business. Decent Traffic should be around 1,000 or more unique visitors a day.

lejla Hej lejla, I did the "dog citronella collar" search on Google and you're on the first page, first hit from this side of the world. Great product though, hoping to send my neighbours over for some big purchases
good luck in your quest! Johan

wrlawrence: Decent Traffic should be around 1,000 or more unique visitors a day. What would you say is the most important or best way to build good quality backlinks to an SBI site?
I am not at a thousand uniques a day yet and have about 150 pages built... so am trying to focus on getting more backlinks...
Also how long did it take you to get to a 1000 uniques a day?
TIA!
