Hey Everyone,
As far as affiliate marketing is concerned, it seems very interesting to me. I am a member of clickbank and have found a few products that I am pretty crazy about and fit my niche. My question to those that are using affiliate marketing to earn a little money is what ways are people using to promote these items? I know starting my own website for the product is an option, a squidoo lense, or just a possible squeeze page linking to the product main page. A couple of products contribute a few squeeze pages for us...these good to use? I basically know what products I want to promote and have completed the Profit Lance course to help me do so, just trying to answer a few last questions with help from my fellow forumers! Thanks in advance or any advice on how many of you are making this work!!!

I love combining Squidoo with Blogs and articles - free methods that work well together.
I have some info on my blog below but mostly I like to follow the One Week Marketing Plan - the only problem is that I need more hours in a day!
I only get a few hours a day to work on my stuff as I am a homeschooling mom of five - ages 9 - 19 so life is full!

I'd definitely get your own domain for your marketing efforts. First, you can use it to build a list. If you're planning to work a given niche extensively, building a list is a good way to boost your income and give you more credibility.
While everyone (I mean you, NS ) will tell you free sites like squidoo are awesome tools, you really want to think of them as part of your traffic funnel. The funnel should go to your own site. Even if you don't want to build out your own site, buy a domain and have it redirect to the merchant's sales page.
The reasons to do this are: Firstly, using a domain with a redirect enables you to change one thing to switch merchants. What I mean is if you use your traffic funnel to send all traffic to your domain and you're selling "Super fat loss" and the merchant changes terms so that you don't get enough commission or something like that, then you can switch your redirect to the "Killer fat loss" without having to go through and change all the links on your articles (if the directory even allows editing), your squidoo lens, your hubpage, your weebly page, blogspot blog, and wordpress blog.
Plus, if you want to get out of the niche altogether, assuming you've built some traffic and are making some kind of profit, you can sell the domain for enough to give you seed money for your next project.

Hi BDK,
Glad to hear that you are ready to begin taking action on your learning.
I suggest starting out with free sites such as wordpress.com, Squidoo, Hub Pages, EzineArticles, free press release sites, and the like to gain some experience and learn from mistakes.
After a few months of careful, pointed learning, try paid hosting. That's where the real money is at.
I agree with MyOwnBoss - use the free sites as the top of the funnel so that they lead to your paid site.
On your main site you can monetize by including affiliate links and ads. Eventually you may be able to create additional income streams by attracting sponsors, creating an opt-in form, selling your own ebooks, etc.
Once you get good at this and reach a noticeable comfort level, you might consider experimenting with PPC.
The 30 Day Challenge, Honest Riches, Profit Lance, and the like are just the very beginning. Be sure to continue your studies as you go. Perform good research and planning before you launch your campaigns. Carefully track your results and tweak as required. Learn from your experiences.
Good luck,
~Newbie Shield~

So i'm trying to comprehend all if this great, useful information here! So i'll pick out the product within my niche on clickbank, start a blog at say blogger.com or wordpress.com, write about it, put a couple banner ads of the product I have chosen on my blog, possibly google adsense and then use my knowledge of promoting my site with ezinearticles, usfreeads, squidoo, etc. building my funnel-like system to my "money site?" Drawing the traffic I understand pretty well, it's applying the product i'm promoting that confuses me sometimes!
How exactly does the "hoplink" work with clickbank? I know we need it to get the recognition for sending visitors to our niches site but where exactly are we putting it in?
Side Note: I heard or read that you are not allowed to put Google Adsense on your blog unless you have a decent amount of traffic? Is this true? What is an estimate of daily visitors needed to do so?
Thank you all for your timely responses! I love this forum!

Hi Freedom You put the hoplink in your content links convert much better there. For example, you can write a review on the product and the link when you mention it is the hoplink.
As far as Adsense goes it depends on what the topic is when I did my make blogs site below the first post I put up was good enough, big G knew and my ads were relevant.
Sometimes it may take several posts before G knows what your site is about so ads could be non relevant or worse yet public service ads.
I have a marriage site that has terrible relevant ad issues and I can't seem to get it fixed even though my content is right on target it doesn't help. I know the content is Ok because I had NS check it and he knows, so it's G not me.
Try to put some ads up and see if they are relevant if not take them off and wait a bit. I hope this helps. Sonni

Hi Hemjoe,
Glad to see you back in action. How goes the projects? What's new in the school world?
I thought you were already a Squidoo Jedi, why would you need a guide from me? :D

Hi Sonni,
Good news is it's just the Home Page that has Adsense relevancy issues. Each individual article page is razor sharp in regards to relevancy.
Though the civil lawyer ads showing up on your front page are slightly relevant in that civil law often involve contracts (such as the marriage contract, wills, etc) related to marriage, that probably isn't what you'd like to see show up.
In your "Marriage Issues Part3- In-Laws" article, which does also appear on your Home Page, you mention the word "Law" in the title of the article and several times in the body of that article.
Still, several other words such as "marriage" have more density and prominence. So, not sure why Google zeroed in on the lawyer thing so much instead of ads with "marriage" except perhaps that it occurs near the top of your page.
Have you received a response from Google yet? It's also in their own best interest to have the ads that show up as relevant as possible. They pocket the lion's share of the Adsense revenue.

There are so many ways to do you marketing. I can name quite a few, but the one thing you always want to remember. You want to have atleast 7 sources of traffic coming to your website at one time, and you want to be able to track each one so you konw which one is performing better. Here are some sources
*Blogging *PPC *Solo Ads *Article Writing *Social Networking *Voice Blasting *Free Advertising
There are just the main ones that I use It's easy once you get everything set up.

Hi NS I have tried to deal with G but they say they are too busy and backed up with requests. The truth is no matter what the title is on the homepage the ads are non relevant. It did fix itself for a week or so and then went right back. I even took ads off for a couple of days to see what would happen and it didn't work.
Usually something about law, work your abs or who knows, all kinds of things. I put a sex title on there and it still did it lol. I thought that would get it if nothing else did. Wrong again. Sonni

Awesome! Thanks everyone for your help! Getting my niche keywords in order to buy a domain, then going to title my blog the same! I will then write creative content implementing my hoplinks from clickbank about my niche promoting product and see how it goes! Lastly, is funneling the traffic in from various locations(usfreeads, pingomatic, squidoo, other forums, etc.) to my MONEY SITE! I'll try this method of making money online for a few weeks and see how far i get! I will keep everyone posted with the status!!
P.S. BOO on TCLS! Not to happy with that whole thing!

Oh times are oh so busy,
Newbie Shield: Glad to see you back in action. How goes the projects?
Thanks. oh things are going okay, i have a few things up my sleeve which i hope to implement in the near future keep a look out :P
Newbie Shield: What's new in the school world?
Epic. i think that word sums it up. Recently had a major session of exams however easing back into the online work again now oo its exciting, haha
Newbie Shield: I thought you were already a Squidoo Jedi, why would you need a guide from me?
i know my fair share sure, but being the forums squidoo guru i thought you might have shared your wealth of knowledge with all the marketers out there
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CashResolution: you want to be able to track each one so you konw which one is performing better
This is very good advice, admittedly as a newbie you start off just trying your hardest to get traffic, tracking isnt even a consideration at this point. Now take a step back what happens if you start recieving loads of traffic and you want repeat what you have achieved? That means you have to go through implementing the each traffic generation method again. what happens if it is just one method that is bringing you all that traffic? well it mean that you could be wasting precious time on other methods which arent performing........ and everyone will tell you time is so valuable.
