Hello, I am the administrator of a up and coming work from home review website <Snip> I have been developing website for awhile now and I would like to give some people who are just getting started some tips on how to get better search rankings and more traffic!
(1) Have a top level domain name! This is pretty much necessary since google rates these domains much hire on there list and people trust websites with TLD much more!
(2) Always submit your site to google right after you upload it!
(3) Make sure your web page is free from any coding errors! If you don't know how to write clean commented CSS and HTML then you might want to look at point and click web hosting.
(4) Get a adsense account and place ads on your site. It gets you some extra cash and most likely google places website using google ad code higher
(5) Have GOOD TITLES!! And make the first few lines of text on your site VERY APPEALING to your content! The first few lines of text is what google uses to explain your site on google web listing. And make your title tag very appealing as well! That is how people will find your site when they search something on google!
(6) Invest in google ad's if only a little bit. This helps alot!
(7) Advertise your site on forums, facebook, and YOUTUBE!! Youtube is FREE ADVERTISING!
(8) Have interesting content! If you make people interested they will keep coming back, which will be very good for your site!

Great tips but I would never rely on the search engines to get me traffic. I have been trying it for years to rank high and get LOTS of free traffic to my site everyday.
All I can say is that you can do this and hope to get a lot of traffic, but it might take you a very long time and there is no guarantee that your site will rank.
I still think that PAID ads in the right places still is the best way to go.
You should also never buy traffic or hits to your site from companies that say something like:
Buy 20,000 visitors for $69.99
Many of us know that they are just lying to you and are scamming you out of your money.

Hi,
You can lose money with paid traffic because this is not target traffic, so here are some tips on how to get on first page on Google (SEO)
First we need to know what people is looking for in the Internet helped by a keyword and then post information regarding that keyword.
We will focus on
- Keyword Research
- Post Optimize Content
- Press Release
- Bookmarking
- Keyword Research
1.- Get google keyword tool
2.- Type the keyword on google
3.- Click on related searches
4.- Check Global Monthly Searches, selecting exact
5.- Open Google type allintittle:keyword
6.- Open Google type "keyword"
You will find that key word base on the bellow information
Google keyword tool Google Google
Monthly search All in title Competition
[exact] > 899 allintitle: keyword < 10,000 "phrase" < 50,000
- Post Optimize Content
Now that yo have the keyword you will post content regarding that
keyword on your blog or web page follow by:
� Keyword in your domain name
� Keyword in title and keyword section
� Keyword in the description
� Keyword in 1st paragraph
� Keyword in last paragraph
� Keyword emphasize in your body � Underline, Bold, Italicize, Anchor text
� Keyword in the heading tags H1, H2, H3
� Keyword scattered throughout body � 1% to 2.5%. Tops 5%
� Keyword in all tags for images
� Use "no-follow" on external links? <a rel="nofollow" href=
- Press Release
Once you finish the post, make some Press Release and add your
link were the post is, the thing here is to get back links to your page.

After doing this check your keyword in a week and see if your
on 1st page of Google, if your not keep posting more Press Releases
until you get there.

I totally disagree.
With PAID ads ( placing your ads in the right places) is the best strategy in my view.
You can not rely on the search engines for traffic.

Unless you are doing paid marketing, then results from free marketing need to build up. It's about creating a presence and consistently marketing that will bring you traffic.
Unfortunately too many see the websites with "i got 10,000s of visitors to my site free" with FB, Blogs, Forums, SEO, etc. and think its a walk in the park. While sometimes one may hit a niche and bam crazy traffic, but free marketing typically is a process that evolves and pays off as one consistently builds their online presence surrounding what they are marketing.

Hi Luis, I have some information regarding SEO but I think I'm stuck, right now I'm checking your steps for SEO and have some questions about it.
1.- How long it takes to be on 1st page of Google
2.- Do you have proof that your steps work
3.- You mention that you can lose money with paid traffic, why is that.
4.- Are you having results with your traffic on your business

Hi Don,
Below my answers to your questions
1.- How long it takes to be on 1st page of Google
Depends on the keyword and the competition but if you follow this you will be in 1st page of Google in one week.
Monthly search: [exact] > 899
All in title: allintitle: keyword < 10,000
Competition: "phrase" < 50,000
Also post optimize content on your blog or web page
2.- Do you have proof that your steps work
Sure I have proof, I do test all that I post.
Go to Google and type the word che feemster (He is one of the top of many affiliates on one of the business that I'm in)
Look for Che Feemster - Luis Villasana Online (1st page of Google)
I accidentally discover another way to get on 1st page of Google with less steps but a little longer to make it on 1st page, still testing on that.
3.- You mention that you can lose money with paid traffic, why is that.
Ha, ha, probably will get in trouble with this question, but here it goes, if your starting a business and go directly to paid advertising probably you will lose money because people are curious and they will click your ad to check it but maybe not ready to buy, this is not target traffic.
On the other hand if your already making a profit and can afford an ad at this point you might know that yo will need a landing page with autoresponder and let the letters do the selling...
If your a starter I recommend that you get traffic from Safelists and Traffic Exchanges, now some people say that they don't work here's why:
- They are promoting the company links
- They are not stepping out from the crowd
Why, because everybody is promoting a business imagine a mall with the same product stores and each store owner trying to sell the same to the others.
But since everybody is trying to get traffic you can promote a web page or ebook on how to do that, you will make raport with the member and he will have confidence on you, this is the point when you offer your product
In my case I created a duplicable system that helps people already in 2 popular business get members to there business.
4.- Are you having results with your traffic on your business

I know this has been mentioned already but does anyone else believe that having google adsense on your site helps with seo on google? I'm still a bit skeptical and I'd rather not have random ads on my site if at all possible. Thanks!

I don't think so. Sure Google is pushing everyone to place AdSense on their websites but quality of the serps is the number one priority for them and I think they would never compromise on it.
Quality of results bring more advertisers to them and not the other way around.

I have received great traffic from answer sites and they get listed quick. Oddly some of my sites get a lot of traffic from Yahoo and Bing compared to Google. I think they respond quicker to traditional SEO.
