Vishal P. Rao: So if there are couple of heavy users in your server, the speed of all the people in the same server will affected. Thanks. Pursuing that point further, will you describe the Work at Home Forum as a heavy user? Are you on an unlimited disk and bandwidth hosting plan since the beginning? If not, what has been your disk space and bandwidth requirements, if you're free to share that info?

realityshifter: Thanks. Pursuing that point further, will you describe the Work at Home Forum as a heavy user? Are you on an unlimited disk and bandwidth hosting plan since the beginning? If not, what has been your disk space and bandwidth requirements, if you're free to share that info? I'm on a shared server with fixed bandwidth plan (80 GB/month) and it appears to be sufficient. However, even though bandwidth is fixed, in shared servers, the server resources (RAM) will be shared and it'll still affect you if there are heavy users in your server. The difference however is that when resources are fixed, they usually have a fixed quota of plans on a particular server unlike unlimited plans.
The best option however would be dedicated servers. Then there are also Virtual Private Servers, which are like a cross between dedicated and shared plans.
So it can be summed up like this - worst to best:
unlimited plans < fixed resources < virtual private servers < dedicated servers

I like Hostgator. They have fantastic support. Hostmonster is a close second, and half the price.

I know everyone knows and trusts hostgator, godaddy, and a few others mentioned, but what about justhost? Has anyone had any luck with them recently? Please respond soon because I have to make a decision within a couple of days. Thanks!

I use webhostingpad and actually really like them. I've never have problems. Inexpensive and reliable. I buy domains from godaddy but missed a lot of emails from them so that is all the business they will get from me. Don't like them filtering my email for me and no it was not my settings. I also like HostGator.

Here is another thing. You know it is not that hard to create your own hosting company with a reseller account, and it is not that expensive.
The backend and billing is usually handled by the hosting company that you have your reseller account with, and they also take care of tech problems.

I use MKHosting. They are a new webhosting provider who also offer domains included int he cost of the hosting. IMO it is one of the best out there. The offer unlimited hosting with Cpanel.

My vote is GVO (GLOBAL VIRTUAL OPPORTUNITY) because you can host unlimited sites and you can market this as well and make 50% commission. It's awesome.

No hosting company beats GDI.. How can you go wrong only paying $10 a month for domain, and have one of the best income opportunities around

As a Joomla and Wordpress developer, I think Hostgator are my best from this poll. Godaddy is good thought.

If your new to web hosting I would suggest you go with HostGator. From what I have seen they provide a more personal level of support.
GoDaddy is starting to get very bad reviews because their support isn't quite up to scratch.

I switched to Dreamhost recently. So far no problems and I can host unlimited domain. I do want to warn anyone hat comes across Globat though. They are horrible. They charge you extra charges and if you get too much stuff on your site, they say things like you can't store pictures or videos on your site.

My favorite hosting company has to be Godaddy, but I have used hostgator and host4profit in the past and have good results with both of them.
To Your Success,
Dave
