minibb and phpbb are forum software that are used to create forums/message boards like this site.

====================================
You explained very clearly about the difference between minbb and phpbb. Honestly speaking, I like your web site very very much. It provides many good information to me. I will probably not to spend couple weeks to design my own forum for my web site, http://www.epmptools.com/ if I could found your web site earlier. I must said it was very painful to me for those weeks. I started to design every thing from zero.... .It is not my point for this post. My question is : I have another web site http://www.oceanstown.com/. I plan to add the forum function for this web site, but I do not know whether I just use the same design of the forum on http://www.epmptools.com web site or choose minbb to be the forum software for my http://www.oceanstown.com web site?

Which solution is better, minbb or my own forum design? which one is good for search engine to find my web site?

PS: You could visit my web site when you are in convenience.
About the http://www.epmptools.com wen site, I will provide online tool for project management requires. For the http://www.oceanstown.com I plan to provide Linux and how knowledge base plus a online shopping service. I would appreciate it if you could give me some advice.

Thank you very much.

Tony

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the forum Did you design the forum software yourself? It's great. However, I found some SEO features lacking in your script. You have kept the title and desciption meta tags same for all pages, which should not be. The title/description of individual pages should reflect their content and not the generic forum title/description.

Also, how secure is your script? Do you intend to develop the script on an ongoing basis. As your user base/traffic increases there might be unforeseen problems. Are you prepared for it?

I would suggest you would be better off with a professional forum solution so you can concentrate on developing/marketing your site than fixing things.

Hi Vishal,

Thanks for your great advice.

First of all, I would like to thank you to visit the www.epmptools.com web site and test my forum web page of www.epmptools.com web site. If you could really post a message or register a account, I would feel very happy and honer.

You are exactly right. The tag , title and the content description are the problem of the SEO issue on my forum software at this moment. As I said before, I designed this forum on my own, so I was too exhausting to fix this issue at that moment. I am doing the tools software development job for www.epmptools.com web site right now. After receiving your reminding, I will go back to fix it immediately.
Thanks for your comment for my web site security issue. I knew it will be a big issue for every successful web site. I have found out some people try to do something to my web sites or web server. I will add Captcha function to my web site. Any thing else for the security I need to take care?

Regarding to the forum software issue of www.oceanstown.com web site, I decide to do as your advice--to try minBB for the forum software on my web site, www.oceanstown.com.
Is it available for me or allow me to modify the minBB software if it is necessary for my web site? will it be any copy right issue?

By the way, I would like to ask you a technical question. I found out your web page of every post and topic are not using php file but replace a html file with file name as same as each topic. It is very fantasy. How do you do that? by program or by manually? Would you mind give me some hints?

Thanks again!!

Tony
PS: I have added your web site link to www.oceanstown.com web site. Would you help me as well.

I don't think there would be any copyright issue as long as you don't actually distribute the modified code to others, and keep the link back to minibb.com intact.

While I could oblige on this, I'm sorry I cannot on the one below...
