Hi guys Just a quick question from lil 'ole me
If I bought a domain name, can I forward the same domain to different websites or do I have to buy separate domains to forward to different sites?
I ask this because I love freewebs and the way everything is so easy to use, but of course the domain is a bit horrible! I want to promote a few things all pertaining to the same bought domain but they are all a little bit different in their content.
Say for example, I want to promote health products using adwords, so want a domain name that says this health-is-us.com, (or something like this, it's just an example) but I want inside to promote different specific health products. Is there a way of pointing my domain to different specified landing pages without the consumer seeing the other health products on my site or is it just easier to buy a domain that's specific to the health product I want to promote?
I hope you get what I mean, cos I think I've confused myself now, lol!
I think I kind of answered my own question really but be nice to know what others think.
Thank you xx

I believe you can only forward your domain to one site, but a good thing to remember is that you can often get the .info and .net sites for much less than a .com site - I like to get .info sites for some of that stuff as they are only $1.99 a year.
I am not that literate on the domain stuff either - I just go grab one and forward it, but I know some of the others on here are much more knowledgeable on that and can help unconfuse you.

Oh, you have no idea how good it is to be back. We are having nice spring weather here... no tornados... no blizzards... no flooding...
My heart really goes out to all the folks in those areas, though.
What we DO have is a very dangerous species of a critter that can cost you more money than you can imagine... they look completely harmless, eat only vegetation, and bless our freezers every year.... people oooh and ahhh over them and exclaim at their cuteness.
BUT, let me warn you, they have a totally different side to them that most folks do not know about unless they live in an area that is infested with this critter.
They have an uncanny ability to know the exact moment you will be cruising down the highway and they even know whether or not you will be using your beater vehicle or the most trusted and reliable.
They pick the moment that you are in a hurry to get to your destination and using their radar skills, hone into the exact moment you will be passing and with head down and in full blown, what appears to be panic mode, (we know better) they come barreling out of the thickets , up across the ditch and without any hesitation, or remorse, crash headlong into the side of your vehicle...
In some cases there is only minor damage, a few thousand or a headlight gone, but in other cases, such as with my hubbys ordeal yesterday, they total the vehicle.
Some may call it an accident - I call it what it is ' planned suicide attack'.
I have a few pics on my blog if you want to have a look see.

lol - thats a good question. It's one less deer to be planning attacks AND one less deer to eat all my garden goodies this year.

Hi Viola,
Glad to see you back safe and sound. I'm so sorry that your hubby had that meeting with the deer, but so glad he is okay. That could have been a real horror.
Strangely enough, we've been in Australia for 12 years and this month we hit our very first kangaroo. They are ALWAYS on the side of the road (much like deer) as roadkill, but this was our first personal encounter. Yuck!
redsadie,
I remember you saying that you used to use SBI. Are you an affiliate with them? The reason I ask is because if you are a 5P Affiliate, you can use NameParkIt to purchase one domain for $9.95 per year and redirect it to an unlimited number of sites using subdomains.
I don't know if that will do what you are trying to do, but it sounds like it.
I have an NPI domain that I use to redirect to all different affiliates.
Using your example health-is-us.com you could have vitamins.health-is-us.com, minerals.health-is-us.com, acai.health-is-us.com, or whatever you want to name the subdomains. All you have to do is go into NPI and create as many subdomains as you like and direct them wherever you like. It's very easy.
Anyone else interested in doing that, all you have to do is join SBI's Affiliate program (for free) and you have access to NPI (NameParkIt).
To sign up as an affiliate, just look at the top of the SBI page and you'll see a little man with the word "affiliates" under him. Click on that and fill out the form to join.
In fact, you may want to take advantage of more than just NPI, you can learn a lot about promoting, etc., through the tools in the 5P Affiliate Club. And if you do decide to actually promote SBI while you're at it, the commissions are nice and you'll know you are genuinely helping people reach success.
Blessings, Angie

I don't know whether I have received your question correctly or not. You need to set a 301 redirection from your hosting control panel.

Thanks Angie - I did not realize that you could do that with SBI... and I think kangaroos are way cuter than deer...

The ability to forward, redirect, or whatever depends on the hosting company and doesn't have anything to with the actual domain. If you already have your domain name, and are looking for hosting, check to see how many sub domains your allowed to use.
I'm allowed 50 with my hosting service and in essence can have 50 seperate web sites since each has it;s own home folder.
So the hosting server is the key answer to your question.
And happy wife is right on, since you are an affiliate, spend the 9.95, go that route. Heck, even if you already have a domain, work them both to your benefit.
Hope This Helps
Jerry
