Hey robertsonrob, Im sure you have already canceled your account, but I decided to post this anyways just in case you are still having issues. I have several websites and many domains and I have never had any of the issues that have come up in this post. I register my domains with godaddy and host them with hostgator. Hostgator is great. Their livechat is always open if you need help.
Just the other day I purchased a domain on godaddy, changed the DNS (pointing them to hostgator), and was up and running with wordpress in about 30 min.
Im sorry that you had so much trouble.
Scott

You should always be careful about the hosting company to pick in the first place. For this, current problem you should not stop contacting them. Other hosting companies can be used 5 minutes after you signed up.

bienvivre Hello bienvivre:
I understand your anxiety and frustration. I am in the midst of a dispute with Hostazar right now. Apparently, Hostazar's servers went down almost two weeks ago. My website disappeared from the Internet. I was panic-stricken and frustrated beyond words because I could not fix their problem and they, apparently would not fix their problem. We could understand a massive technical meltdown, if that were the case, but it seems as if no one is managing or working at Hostazar. I have sent 12 support tickets since my web site disappeared and not one was answered. This indicates a serious failing of customer support. In fact, we must believe that customer support is non-existent at this time. I have (...I had) a blog and I have lost six months of work and 40 posts that will be very difficult for me to rewrite.
I opened a dispute with Paypal suggesting that I thought Hostazar was no longer in business because they were not communicating at all ( they have an answering machine, I understand, but phone calls are not returned.) I sent a payment but then cancelled it explaining that service was not rendered. Someone from Hostazar managed to respond to this dispute by saying they sent me an e-mail telling me that my payment was accepted and I was in "active" status. I wrote back : "It is true that you sent me an e-mail confirming my active status, but, you still have not answered any of my 12 urgent support tickets and my website is still not visible on the Internet. This is what I was paying for and you have not rendered this service." I cancelled my payment and Hostazar accepted that. I was not satisfied however. My website and all my data is in their files and they are preventing me from accessing that because they have not activated my web site, so I initiated another dispute via Paypal with Hostazar stating that if they will assure me that my web site will be live again, I will resend payment and no further action will be taken. If not, I will escalate the dispute to the next level and seek to recover 4 weeks of fees for the total downtime I have experienced with Hostazar ( it was down for two weeks in January.) I do not yet know the outcome of this new dispute. I apologize for this lengthy post, but I think it is important to get the word out: Hostazar has serious customer support and technical issues and they are not dealing with them. They may soon have serious legal challenges as well. If you are asking for advice, bienvivre, I would strongly advise you NOT to wait for Hostazar to handle your projects. If they cannot handle the clients they have, will they treat you any better? I suggest you immediately find another hosting company and not invest any more time with Hostazer. Their plummeting reputation is reason enough. Find another Host that will communicate with you promptly and you should be live in two or three days. Done properly, you do not have to wait a week. Do this before you have more to lose. You are just starting out, so you can still move to another Host. Good Luck --wil126

Grafica Rob Benwell. Rob Benwell had a brilliant idea. He promoted a FREE blog that was easy to set up, complete with preloaded advertising. One of the preloaded ads was "Blogging to the Bank" ( by Rob Benwell.) The other was a hosting service called "Hostazar" ( A Ron Benwell company-ceo, Rob Benwell.) A few months after signing on with Hostazar, they were down and I was out----website vanished for about two weeks. No explanations. Eventually, they got their servers up again and things appeared to be ok until two weeks ago ( March2010) when my site vanished again. Apparently, during the first incident, no one was in the building during the Christmas vacation. Benwell soon after sold Hostazar to a Mr. Mathews-- Neither Mr. Mathews, nor Benwell nor anyone else can be reached to explain why 4000+ clients are without service.
The real reason there was no response is contained in an answer to a question by a potential buyer of Hostazar; the Hostazar representative (Benwell or some other key employee):
srini28 - the server went down like already stated and we were on xmas leave but because this is not an important site to us we didn't have anyone monitoring it and taking care of any emergancies over xmas
There is interesting information about Hostazar published in the auction record at
http://flippa.com/auctions/84570/Hosting-Site-For-Sale---33k-Revenue---No-Reserve
Unfortunately, the successful bidder has not resolved any of the problems inherent in managing Hostazar. I like the idea of "green" business, however, I understand that Hostazar derives its power from wind and despite the recent unknown catastrophe that caused the present incident, present condition must be "dead calm."

There are some aspects that you have to deal with in hosting and your domain such as the Propagation of the website and also the dns.. Propogation lasts sometimes for more than a day..

As a follow-up to my comment a few months ago, we now know that Hostazar was sold and the new owners are trying to get the business up and running. I tried to recover all my lost data but apparently all the servers were cleared of any data and I was unable to recover anything. I since moved to a new Host and have been recreating my lost posts and rebuilding my blog. If you want to read the whole story of what happened to me and compare it to what happened to you, feel free to visit "bloggasaurus" and find the post entitled "Apologies, Farewell and Welcome."--Wil
