I was able to confirm the official date of the price increase from the WA blog:
"So...from now until June 7th at NOON EST, you can join Wealthy Affiliate for the current price of only $39/mth or you can join for a 1-year period for $359.88 (which works out to $29.99/mth).
After June 7, 2010 you will have to pay the new price for WA of $97."

treevee: Also, I wonder if I'll get more out of the program than I got from OWM, 30DC and all the other free educational literature and videos that I've gone through. ...... Still him-hawing, but I need to make that decision and fast, I guess! Well, Treevee, I think the Thirty Day Challenge is awesome, and I have learned much. Market Samurai is just an extraordinary tool, and I am so grateful to 30DC for everything.
The best part of WA in my opinion is the forum, and year round support. I have not personally asked for private support, however the forum is a home base, and I love the networking system.
I wish you much success! Victoria

treevee: I have been him-hawing about joining WA, mainly because of funds. I would hate to join for a month or 2, build websites hosted by them and then have to quit because I can't afford it anymore, therefore, losing everything I worked hard to building! I am on a substantially low fixed income and I don't want to throw it all away! Just make sure you do your web hosting somewhere else and you should be fine.

I only pay $9.99 per month with Hostgator.
However, WA now offers unlimited hosting. I am considering taking them up on it since I am locked into WA at $29.00 a month.

OMG!!! I must say yall are VERY rite on soaking up all the info for a month or two and cancelling the membership! I'm working with another program rite now and I wanted to see what I couldd get out of WA for a month and take my learnings back to my program! I started Affiliate Mrkting a year ago and got so over whelmed on the writting articles and squidoo pages that I stoped for 6 mths! Now that I wanted to get back into it I was curious on the whole WA idea! I can sure say i lucked out on joining b4 june 7th! So I'm most deff gonna get EVERYTHING that's worth the $97 for this whole month! The whole timed action plan sucks! They make u wait like a day or two to get ahead! So is the OWM worth a shot or a wate of time telling u everything u've already learned like the basics?

Hi,
I've used WA for nearly a year and it has worked quite well for me. Well I'm more into it for the number of sites I can create.
So are old members not getting the price increase on the monthly or annual fee?
Thanks,
Ryan

I am not a member but from what I know if you joined before the price increase of $97 you are "locked in" to the price you joined at..

Carson and Kyle just adjusted the pricing structure at Wealthy Affiliate. There is now an option to join at $47 a month - the main difference is that you don't get access to a few of the features that are offerred at the $97 price. In my opinion, I don't think it is necessary to pay the extra $50 a month to get access to the additional features - there is plenty of value in the $47 package. I'm actually very glad that WA now has the $47 option, because I felt that $97 a month seemed a little steep...

Adding to getagrip's post above, if you like to stay in WA for at least a year, now yearly membership 50% off. That is, $48.50 per month. But, you have to pay for 12 month at once. That may sound overwhelming. I was paying monthly, but I changed to be a yearly member. I don't regret my decision. Being a member of WA has an big advantage.
