Well, I never have and will never use Wix or Weebly for any of my sites. I buy a new Wordpress theme from Theme Forest every now and then though. I personally prefer to just buy turnkey HTML/PHP templates prebuilt as they are easier for me to customize.

I prefer WP hosted on my own server. I have purchased templates from Template Monster and Theme Forest. One of my later projects included the Headway Theme, a fully customizable, drag and drop theme.

Something that takes a little more time, but gives me a little more satisfaction, is creating a child theme from one of the WP default themes.

When I create a new business or website, I like to get a good logo designed via 99Designs. You could also get a web template the same way. I am currently working on redesigning a landing page for one of my marketing efforts and found someone on UpWork in the Ukraine who has great skills and is doing the job for $100. If I wasn't picky on quality I could have found someone for less there as well.

They may "look" better but that is not a fix all and most pro themes have some downsides.
The biggest downside is getting locked into a paid subscription or even hosting package.
Some themes (like Wix) are not transferable to another hosting service.
Many have restrictions due to image and content copyrights.
You can't just take it with you or sell it to whomever.
Pro versions do usually have more options available.

Customizing your Wordpress site to be unique is safer.
You can hire freelancers or learn to do it yourself easy.
You own the custom theme and can use it anywhere.
There are no annual fees or limits on usage or host.

I still get paid to update old themes I designed.
My clients didn't like being "hooked" by others.
With me they owned what I created for them.
That included custom forms and coding.
Want to move it elsewhere? No problem.
(especially since I'm officially "retired" now)

Regardless of "look", content always was and will be king.
Look at Google, plain as they come and #1 by a mile.
