Hi, I'm brand new to IM, and I'm considering two programs to help me get started properly: Profit Lance and Wealthy Affiliate. They sound very similar to me, with the obvious exception of a one-time payment vs. monthly recurring charge. Does anyone have an opinion as to which is actually better? It may be that they are both fantastic, and either would be perfect for me. Just curious what everyone thinks. Best Wishes! DM
I'm not aware of Profit Lance, but Wealthy Affiliate is a good membership site that helps in earning income through PPC.
im unaware of wealthy affiliate but the profit lance course is a detailed well updated membership site that covers vast areas and techniques associated to making money online. I have heard also that the lifetime membership will soon be converted to a monthly membership
Well, pretty soon profit lance is going to be turned into a monthly membership site as well. I haven't purchased wealthy affiliate. I know a lot of people have learned a lot from it though. Profit lance is my top choice
Profit Lance, says I. For now it is cheaper, only a one time fee. Wealthy Affiliate is also very good, and after Profit Lance gets into the monthly fee system I don't know which way to lean.. They are both good!
Hi everyone, I wanted to say THANKS for the replies, it helps! I'm "once bitten, twice shy" about investing in any program, if you know what I mean. I just found this forum actually, and I love everyone's positive, supportive attitude. It's so nice to hear from REAL people, not just reading sales page after sales page. Thanks again, and I wish everyone incredible success! DM
Hi DM I haven't tried profit lance but I'm a long time WA member (over a year). I had never done IM before I joined WA and now I do it full time...bye, bye day job! I could not have done it without WA and there are loads of people in there getting the best support there is IMO. Dave B
Wealthy Affiliate is the real deal. Profit Lance can not match the support you can get at Wealthy Affiliate from Carson and Kyle, or other Wealthy Affiliate members for that matter. Nor can it match the resources that are available to you at Wealthy Affiliate. I also think Carson and Kyle are more knowledgeable and successful than the guy who runs Profit Lance.
I would rather stick with Profit Lance because it's a one time fee and there is a lot of valuable information in the course. So whatever you choose, Good Luck
In terms of quantity of tutorials, Profit Lance has a little more information. In terms of quality of information and fundamentals, I think Wealthy Affiliate has the edge over Profit Lance. Additionally, Wealthy Affiliate has one of the best internet marketing forums out there, where members help each other out and exchange information, which is something Profit Lance does not offer, at least at the time I purchased it. But there is something very "suspicious" about Profit lance that not a lot of people know about... When I purchased Profit Lance, initially I was impressed with the quantity of information, but then I noticed that the membership layout was eerily similar to Wealthy Affiliate members area, almost as if the guy "borrowed" the Wealthy Affiliate source code and then changed the colors (although the content at Profit Lance was unique). Then I noticed that some of the Profit Lance websites appeared to have been built using the websites you have access to with your Wealthy Affiliate membership (with different content)..which indicated that Michael Andrews, the guy who runs Profit Lance, was probably a Wealthy Affiliate member and was getting his inspiration from Wealthy Affiliate...but perhaps taking things too far by "borrowing" things like the template layout. When I read the "Copywriting" tutorial from Profit Lance, it appeared to me as if it had been photo copied from a hard cover book, which made me very uncomfortable using this material because of possible copyright violations...and also made me very uncomfortable using the rest of the learning materials in the Profit Lance members area. This caused me to do some digging in forums and I came across a thread about a guy named Michael Andrews who had been convicted of fraud and sentenced to jail for three years starting in July of 2003 - you can read the story here: http://abc.net.au/news/stories/2003/07/16/903715.htm Interestingly, Profit Lance went on the market some time around December of 2006, which would have been just over three years from the time Michael Andrews would have gotten out of prison. If this is the same guy, it would have given Michael Andrews only about 6 months to make his fortune that he claims to have made from his website...and I'll tell you that although it can be done, it takes a lot longer than 6 months. When you add all of the pieces together that I mentioned above, things sure are suspicious with Profit Lance, and it makes you wonder if his income claims are legitimate. I ended up getting a refund for Profit Lance and REFUSE to promote it from my website. You don't have to worry about thjis kind of stuff from Carson and Kyle at Wealthy Affiliate - they develop all of their own content, and you can tell that these guys know what they are doing. Its amazing how many positive threads their are in the forum of people who join Wealthy Affiliate and say how awesome it is and how glad they are that they found it. Its up to you whether or not you want to purchase Profit Lance or join Wealthy Affiliate, but there is something to be said for the real thing compared to an imitation of it.
Quoting: getagripAdditionally, Wealthy Affiliate has one of the best internet marketing forums out there, where members help each other out and exchange information, which is something Profit Lance does not offer, at least at the time I purchased it. That is true that profit lance doesn't have a forum. There are many internet marketing forums on the web such as the warrior forum. I've learned a lot from that forum and its free. Thats good that you did a lot of research of 'michael andrews'. Its probably not the same michael andrews. That name is VERY popular. Its all very interesting though. You are right that the websites are very similar, and he probably did get a little too carried away. I had no idea that wealthy affiliate and PL were that similar.
Quoting: makemoneyonlineThats good that you did a lot of research of 'michael andrews'. Its probably not the same michael andrews. That name is VERY popular. The fact that I even suspected anything in the first place AND FOUND SOMETHING to support my findings is quite interesting, to say the least. I would encourage you to look at the "Copywriting" section to see what I mean about it possibly being a copy of a hard cover book. Have you ever wondered why the Copywritng sections have page numbers, but you can't see the title page of the book? Also be sure to check out the sections on Info Products and SEO, and you will be able to see the sources I'm referring to. Right there, that is two sections of Profit Lance that are possibly used without permission. The fact that the Wealthy Affiliate stuff was borrowed without Kyle or Carson knowing about it should indicate that my suspicions are valid, because if he is going to borrow from one source without permission, it is likely other sections are borrowed without permission as well...although with the Wealthy Affiliate stuff, I will give him credit for altering the content.
Quoting: makemoneyonlineInteresting, I'll have a look at the copywriting section. Don't forget to look at the SEO and Info Product sections as well, just so you can see that I'm not full of hot air. Also, I emailed you a screen shot of the WA members area just for comparison. Look familiar? WA came out with this format in September of 2006, while PL came out around December of 2006 (I think).
