After having to bake 3 batches this weekend I figured I'd share this one.
It's an old Betty Crocker Butterscotch Brownies recipe I altered out of laziness.

Melt 1/4 cup of butter or margarine in a microwaveable bowl
    Add 1 egg (minus shell)
Add 1 teaspoon Vanilla and stir with a fork

Add 1 cup packed Brown Sugar
Add 3/4 cup Flour (Whole Wheat for "Dirty Blondes")
    Add 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
    Add 1/2 teaspoon Salt
Mix all ingredients with a fork then
Add 1/2 cup chopped Nuts (Walnuts for me)

Spread in a greased 8"x8"x2" pan or dish
Bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes until brown but not burnt, lol.

I can't believe how fast they disappeared with all the other goodies to choose from.

This is a recipe I would eat. It sounds like a great snack and it would go well with a glass of milk or a cup of hot chocolate.

Yikes! I should not read this forum first thing this morning...
My sweet tooth insisted on brownies for breakfast after seeing this post again.
Only problem was, no walnuts and only a dozen or so almonds in the cupboard,
so - I substituted bran flakes for the nuts - after all it was my breakfast!
Not quite the same but sinfully sweet none the less.
Thanks to Wayne I'll be in a sugar coma all day.

Jimmy, I think you were simply looking for an excuse
to indulge your taste buds with delectable delights and
surreptitiously point the finger at Wayne for your fix.

Thank you, I only commented on the recipe I didn't invent it. I am sure since you posted it you would have come back to it sooner or later without my help. I hope you enjoyed them.

Thanks Wayne, I only had to share them with the wife this time.
Usually only make them when the kids are here for the holidays.
You gave me a good excuse to zone out for the day. Thanks!
(I would have goofed off anyway but you gave me an excuse)
Now I also have an excuse to go hiking for the next week.

So Hermas called you Jimmy so Jimmy I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to blame things on me but for future reference I have a saying. "Leave me out of it" I mean that in the best possible way honest. Have a great night and a few more brownies. What the heck you're going to hike them off right?

They sound like they would satisfy any craving for sweets! I can't make them now, but I sure want to try them.

It's a cold day here in Louisiana and those brownies would go really good with a cup of coffee while I work on my website. I may have to get to baking!

Cajun born myself with chicory running through my veins, but grew up in BigD with watered down coffee.
Spent my childhood summers and holidays in Hollywood/Maplewood outside Lake Charles.
May still have a few relatives in your neck of the woods, only facebook knows for sure.
I moved as far away from humidity as I could get after I got out of college.
Been a desert rat for almost 40 years now and seldom get back to La.
Goodbye jo, me gotta go, me oh my oh...
    Enjoy hiking it off ;)

I grew up in Colorado, Louisiana is a new thing for me, came here three years ago for the holidays and ended up trapped because of the economy. If it wasn't for my website and brownies there would be no hope!
