    Hey there:

It's my first post here. To start with, I'd like to contribute a valuable tip that helps me to make over $1000 in 1 hour last year using knowledge I learned from Profit Lance.

Last November, as I was planning for christmas shopping, I noticed TMX Elmo was in great demand. Then it strikes me: why don't I monetize this trend? After doing some research, I decided to give it ago. I would promote TMX Elmo via eBay affiliate program.

About eBay affiliate program: it pays $25-$35 per new sign up. On top of that, you get paid small percentage of revenue from winnings bid. It has been one of my favourite affiliate program as it converts very well, and have wide array of products that you can promote.

Next, I set up an eBay affiliate website with niche of TMX Elmo. I wrote few articles, and grab some youtube video to my site. Then, I set up PPC campaigns and did basic SEO stuff , basically just implemented what I learn from Profit Lance. It took me about 2 hours.

As soon as campaigns were up, I started to receive commission. Sales were slow at the beginning. However, one week before Christmas, I started to receive a lot more sales! seem like a lot of people were doing last minute shopping.

After Christmas, sales slowly decreased. However, I earned more than $1000 (minus expenses) in just 3 weeks. Not too bad for 2 hours work, eh?

In fact, if you manage to spot a trend in its early stage and monetize it, you will make easy money. Following are websites that show the latest trend and hottest selling products:
    1. buzz.yahoo.com
    2. hotsearches.aol.com
    3. pulse.ebay.com
    4. google.com/trends

If anyone have question, please feel free to ask me!

P/S: According to AOL Search, Guitar Hero is selling out quick! so what are you waiting for ? [IMG]

That's actually quite a good idea if you know how to do it. There are certain things that sell like hotcakes near the holidays. It's a great way to take advantage of the frantic shoppers by being a traffic director and steering them in the right direction.

    Blessings,
    Angie

WOW Excellent information! I truly wish I had known about this a few weeks ago, now I have invested my time into a really inexpensive cash gifting system that is doing fairly well. But I really want to try this next! It really sounds like a GREAT way to make some money!

    Thanks

    Hi Leealexis,

Nicely done. Cashing in on trends is a nice thing to throw in the mix every now and then.

Some folks specialize in trends only with the understanding that the income won't last long. They don't mind since they are into starting over once the trend has passed.

It's always a good idea to have one or more longevity sites as the main play but trends are a nice break from the usual pattern.

    Glad you did well,

    Hey Shield:

It is a good way to make some fast cash, but not a way to build online business. My post aims to inspire newbies who got stuck.

Now, it's a little late to monetize the buying frenzy for Xmas or Guitar Hero. However, the sky's the limit. I will give another idea here:

Whenever's these a new movie (especially block buster) coming out, sales of tickets, posters, and related products will go up.

So what do you do now?

Simple ! Go look at what's the new release in 2009, build websites around those movies, and wait for the cash to come in when it's released =)

    Another example..

As I mentioned I monitor Google Trend closely. Sometimes I'd see that people search for these terms "song name+lyrics.". Then, I'd set up PPC campaign with the song name as keywords. The campaign leads to ringtone sing up page where I am affiliate with. Back when the big G is not so strict with ringtone campaigns, I did manage to make some nice income off this technique.

Again as I said, Profit Lance is a good guide. If you use the knowledge with the tips I share here, you will make money.

If anyone need help, feel free to PM!!

P/S: It seems that Elmo is still hot this Xmas.. [IMG]

    leealexis,

Thank you for sharing this info.

Question. What is the best resource to learn the right way to become and monetize as an ebay affiliate?

Also, are you saying much of your income is in signing up accounts with ebay?

Do you happen to know the cookie life?

    Thanks,

The income is from both new sign up and revenue share.

Not quite remember about the cookie life though, but you can check out from eBay Partner Network.

I have pointed few URL in previous posts for you to find out the latest trend.

    hope this helps. [IMG]

nice info- I'm definatly going to be looking more into this some more to test the waters. I'm wondering though, how "newbie-friendly" is it to do this? we are pretty new to all of this (me and my girlfriend) when it comes to the building websites part. we understand the concepts and ideas behind it, but find that the most challengin part to us is actually building the sites, SEO, and how to get our sites higher rankings in the search engines.

how "newbie-friendly"? hmm.. it is good question.

See, this strategy always work, but do not work ALL the time.

IMHO, it is rather newbie friendly as you are looking to build something with little competition..

If you do not know about site building and SEO, then by all mean get a copy of PL ! [IMG]

    Hi Bdkfreedom,

Those are part of the fundamentals and you should study those extensively until you understand them well before you move forward.

That'll save you a lot of frustration in the future.

Spend the time to identify and learn the basics. Read this forum for a while then consider purchasing a program.

Then experiment with free sites such as blogs, Squidoo, and Hub Pages for a few months to put your theories and knowledge to the test. You never truly know how things work until you try them for a while.

Then once you feel you are ready, try paid hosting.

Many jump into the making money part too soon and suffer unnecessarily. Footwork and mastery first, then comes the income.

    Newbie Shield is right..

I'd add that you should only target those niche with hungry/desperate buyers, for example:-

    Affairs
    Relationship
    Weight Loss

    Hey Alexis,

If you can repeat what you have achieved and can create a video or ebook out of it, then you can easily sell it for a decent price. I believe a lot of newbies would happily pay for it.

    Regards,
