Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. I strongly recommend this classic for those on a spiritual path. We are all on a spiritual path, indeed this is for those who have an insatiable thirst for knowledge. I read the unabridged version from Amazon. I am off on a tangent to study Hinduism now.. Still an Internet Marketer too! Bless you while on your journey, Victoria
Okay I will answer myself The more spiritual and metaphysic books I read, the more that are "put in my path" and, of course added to the Amazon Wish List. Each more precious than the last! Victoria
I have that book and I managed to read half of it. But somehow I couldn't complete it. Not that it isn't interesting. It's an amazing book. However, being in front of my Laptop all the time, reading is more of stress now, so I generally prefer listening to audio books. Every night for about half an hour we listen to spiritual books/speeches. It really works wonder.
Autobiography of a Yogi is a very long book. I know what you mean by being on the computer all day long. After 3rd and then 4th grade home school I am fried. Audio Books are a great suggestion Vishal. It would be a great way to introduce more spiritual things to my boys too. Victoria
VictoriaNTC: The more spiritual and metaphysic books I read, the more that are "put in my path" Interesting observation! It's also a glimpse of how subtly the Divine operates. All we need do is "get in the flow" and use the universal waves to negotiate our lives. Effortlessly! Vishal P. Rao: Every night for about half an hour we listen to spiritual books/speeches. It really works wonder. That's a great discipline! Those are the small, repeated actions that help us develop our higher consciousness. Hermas
I have heard many good reviews about it from very successful people who also teach self help and stuff like that. I have a few books on my reading list that I want to read and maybe I will read this one too. But after reading Vishal's response, it does not seem that it is any good. My next book on my list is called The magic of positive thinking by Norman Vincent Peale which I should get any day now from Barnes and Noble. Tal
VictoriaNTC Hey Victoria, Have you ever heard of a meditation called Holosync? It's a guided meditation that I have used for a while... It requires no complicated mental gymnastics and has been shown to improve both cognitive and emotional functions in healthy subjects...
A8ch: Interesting observation! It's also a glimpse of how subtly the Divine operates. All we need do is "get in the flow" and use the universal waves to negotiate our lives. Effortlessly! Oh I understand perfectly! Months ago, a son of mine feared death. He was so upset about the thought if it. My other son wanted to figure out how to use the other 85% of the brain. I told them both we would seek these answers, and calm fears. Within days, the information (from my subtle asking) started to appear magically. The answers for both are the same! talfighel: But after reading Vishal's response, it does not seem that it is any good. I think Vishal meant it is rather long. You can read it free online. However being so long it would be best to have a copy to lay around with. I have the original version, and really love it. amicof: Have you ever heard of a meditation called Holosync? Oh, yes I have! There are so many wonderful things out there! So much sound technology, books and such. Thank you everyone for visiting about these things!
Great thread. I love it when forum have other topic threads allowed. Autobiography Of A Yogi was a biggie for me circa 1980. I loved the affidavit from Forest Lawn cemetery at the back of the book that asserted nothing was done to his body (embalming, etc.) yet it was perfectly preserved. He mentioned in the book that is what happened to his Master's body. He also spoke of how his Master would visit him and others after he died, in apparent physical form. Victoria, what were the answers you got for your sons? Amicof, Holosync is awesome, although I don't know of it being guided. Perhaps you got a joint venture project that used holosync along with another technology. I'm forgetting the name, but this other company has the sound tracks where they simultaneously speak affirmations along with narratives in each ear, giving 2 story lines, and they play holosync in the background. Man, that is a wonderful trip. I need to open my trunk and get those out. Glad I read this thread.
