activity is the key to any business or job of any structure. so if you are trying to run your own business of what ever sort you must do one thing - sell it. and the most lethal thing a sales person can do is activity. even if you are doing everything wrong as long as you stay active you will sell something (even a blind squirel gets a nut every now and again). activity activity activity and a little more activity is the key if you want to be successful at whatever you do!
This is true hopefully all this activity in the end will give you enough money so you can relax and still make money being inactive. Thats if you set up your business to be like that in the future.

If you are truly serious about succeeding you must be willing to get positive results more frequently than "every now and again". Expending your energy just for the heck of it and keeping your fingers crossed that something might happen, is a guaranteed recipie for burnout, failure and poverty. While I agree that action is necessary to become successful, that action ought to be carefully thought out before it is executed. Successful people work smart, not hard, and the quality of activity is one of the contributing factors. Hermas

I would absolutely hate to be doing everything wrong and getting the occasional sale by accident. My time is valuable to me. I want to be doing as much 'right' as possible so that I am making real progress and building a successful business. I was one who was always frustrated when the teacher assigned 'busy work.' I have enough things clamoring for my time and attention that I don't want to waste my time on activity that isn't purposeful and effective. It isn't necessary to do everything wrong when there are some really great tutorials and resources that can help you insure that you are doing most things right. Just my thoughts. Blessings, Angie
I think I have to agree here with the last two. We all learn from our mistakes but if you are just going by all willy nilly style and hope for the best, thats really not going to provide much more than a headache.
sure its great to make a sale, but doing it by accident is bad, because you havn't learnt. Bill gates says success is a lousy teacher, it seduces smart people into thinking they can't lose! Activity is definately a good thing, but running to your goal with your eyes closed isnt going to help u learn and succeed. your failures will ultimately help u learn more. failure is another word for learning, think positive and try being organised on what ur doing to avoid failure and time waste. activity, activity and more activity can be detremental because u may be wasting ur effort on something if ur not doing it right. just a thought good luck to everyone
Good advice in these posts. There is no such thing as making money doing nothing. If you put the effort forth, you will be successful. The worst thing you can do is not do anything because you feel like you don't know what to do. This forum is a great starting point to get advice from knowledgeable people. Good luck!
Hey!, great topic . I think If you keep learning and join a lot of programs but don't market it or take consistent action, this can make you feel very overwhelmed because of all the bunch of information and hype there is everywhere.

I agree. When I started with the home business idea I would easily get "information overload" and would not even know where to start. But as a beginner I started just doing "some consistent action" everyday to get my business going. It may not have been right but I learned from it. I wanted to do everything "right" also but at first I didn't know what right. So I at least started doing something every day on a consistent basis while I was learning what did work and what I really needed to do to take the business in the right direction. That is what worked for me. It helps if you have a mentor also to point you in the right direction. Becky
Great Topic, I think it's a combination of activity and learning from your mistakes that brings you success, not one of these two alone. For example, I think that it must be really frustrating if you have to work very hard and make an occasional sale.
There is NO SUCH THING as a free ride. Anything worth having you are going to have to work for. Sometimes, even if you work hard you may not get what you hope to achieve, and then what? Simple, you have to work harder, but not only that, you have to work smarter. Learn what makes others successful, mimic their tactics, and evolve to where you may be able to improve on the design. That's where the real success will kick in. So while I agree that activity is key to success, I think smart activity is the actual winning combination.
