Between July and September, I got $2.05. Will this improve? Now I have 30 lenses with visits ranging from 0 to 30+ visits per month.

businessonapage: Will this improve?
Hi businessonapage,
That depends upon your lensrank for each lens, your traffic, the quality of your content, your authority on Squidoo, etc.
Is each lens SEOd with in demand phrases? That's another big concern.
Treat each lens like a page on a self-hosted site. Tweak every area in regards to optimization.
That will maximize your chances of making a reasonable income from your lens collection.
Know everything you can about online marketing and apply it to your lenses.

Thanks Newbie Shield,
You said in an earlier post,
Newbie Shield: If you'd like me to look at your lenses you can pm me with their addresses. Perhaps I can help.
Would it be alright if I take up this offer?
My site with the 30+ traffic per month is an information directory. I would love to soundboard what my audience is looking for and what they could purchase from the site. Now that I have traffic, I'm hoping to work out a way to convert it to income.

Hi businessonapage,
You can if you wish.
You might just post the lens addy in your sig for a few days so we can all learn from the resulting interaction. After a few days, you can change your sig back to the way it is now if you like.
That way you'll also get more traffic to that lens

PS. I think I found the lens you spoke of - the BPM lens, which is your highest ranking lens. Excellent BPM resource directory and good job on the lens.

Hi Steven,
You're welcome. It's better if you ask in public rather than via PM so that everyone can benefit from the interaction of the forum members. Hopefully others will join in on the conversation.

Hi Newbie, I'm back again. Ready for a chat. Starting from the first point (from what you wrote above) I am happy to report that the lens ranked today at #3713 and there have been 456 visits in the last 30 days.
Interestingly, in the last week I think the page slipped as far back as 8,000.
The only differences I can see were 1) I added a picture in the introduction after we last wrote, 2) I placed the link to it in the signature on this forum and 3) someone (was it you?) left a comment on the page and made it a favourite.
These are good to help with the ranking but I guess like the others in this forum, I'm wondering if this can convert to dollars.
Also, my stats for the month only show amounts available up to September 2008. Is this the same for anyone else? I'm not sure if I haven't earned anything during this period or whether the amount for October and November maybe different for September.

Hi Businessonapage,
Any lens ranked under 10k overall is a respectable rank these days - considering the large number of lenses.
I left a comment, rated, and favorited your lens on Dec 5. I'm the electric guitar avatar. I also joined your fanclub.
It does help your lensrank.
You can monetize:
1. Coop pay - shared ad revenue paid according to lensrank for each lens.
2. Money modules such as Amazon, eBay, and others.
3. Your own affiliate links.
4. Indirectly by sending traffic to your own self-hosted sites via links to your sites.
Payment is delayed by two months. So, Decembers pay will be from September.

Hey Newbie,
Have you recieved your payout details for October? I just found out I made 40 cents. I believe the amount is from the Coop pay. I have yet to recheck - but - none of my Amazon, eBay and other modules to date indicated they are paying out anything.
I wonder what November will bring?
Steven

Hi Businessonapage,
Yep, I got the email yesterday from Squidoo for payout. They usually pay sometime in the second week of the month as they did this month.
Yep, the amount is probably coop pay for yours.
The amounts can really vary. A few months ago, one guy made over $1,000 from a single lens. His money modules really delivered nicely.
A few people have been making over a thousand a month consistently for about a year now.
Sometimes the back links from from their Squidoo lenses pay pretty well (see item #4 above). Lensmasters have also reported doing well with their own affiliate links placed right in a lens.
Squidoo is also a great learning grounds where you can put your theory into practice. You can also learn quite a bit from your mistakes.
As far as free hosting goes, Squidoo is hard to beat.
Good luck with your future lenses, payouts, and learning,

web20mentor: But I use them more to give my youtube videos backlinks which drives them up the search engines nicely. So they have indirectly made me tens of thousands of dollars.
Interesting.

Hi I have just started getting into Squidoo.
I have created some lenses of which there is a link to one of them in my signature.
No money has appeared on the horizon yet. Let us wait and see how they develop.

Hi Strap,
I rated and favorited one of your lenses and joined your fanclub.
Would you mind clearing something up for me? Your profile on the forum says your a female and your name is Julie. Your Squidoo profile has a picture of a guy and it says your name is Les. I'm wondering which one to go with or if you might of linked to the wrong lens.
Thanx,

Hi Strap and spouse,
I figured that it was something like that ;)
You're welcome. Looks like you have a nice collection of lenses.
Happy Holidays,

Well holidays are over. All the best for the New Year everyone.
I thought I'd report back. I now have $4.48 in the reserve hopper, but in November and December I got over $500 from 1 Affiliate ad on one page.
Now if only I can repeat and expand on this.
