Anyone had any great SEO experiences to date. The company we are using offer great services to up and coming local businesses - free hosting, discounted websites and pay monthly deals. Also, the SEO work itself is certainly working, anyone else had similar experiences with SEO companies?

This is the best. I still use these guys and they know seo.
Just don't do what I did and use an x-rumer service. My site got sand boxed by Google and sits in purgatory.

I mainly just do the work myself. I am always worried about getting sandboxed if I let anyone else work on it.

Yes be very careful who you let do your work. You don't want to utilize any blackhat tactics that can get your site sandboxed. I would suggest learning something about SEO yourself so you can tell if who you hire is doing a good job - often the work is very tedious and time consuming, and a lot of people don't know how to tell if there site is doing better. Link building is the big thing, there are several tools out there to check your backlinks. You can do quite a bit of this on your own, but again it is time consuming work. As far as on-site optimization you can find all that info on-line, once changes are made you don't really have to worry about it. I'd suggest exchanging links with sites that are within your niche, posting on relevant forums/blogs where you can include links, getting into good directories, for a start!

Doing SEO yourself is a great way to track your links and to make sure that you are not spamming. Truth is you should do those link slowly not all the links in one submission.

SEO needs for every person changes with their objectives, business model etc., and there is no single answer to this. This is a little tricky question to answer. To get reliable information you may need to verify in unbiased resources. Following is a good list to start with. Looks unbiased to me based on their popularity (However I am not sure and not affiliated either)

The best thing to do in my opinion is build your own content that can be engaging and your own On page SEO and you can get some pretty hits already.
For backlinks, you can purchase Scrapebox along with the guide and learn how to use it properly.

I would not recommend anyone use any of these services. It is a total waste of your time and money.
Just like any business out there, I suggest you learn how to use PAID advertising. For me over the past few years after trying everything, I still like paid advertising because it gets me and others results.
That is my own experience.

Using tools and resources to help build your backlinks for top rankings in the search engines is a good idea. If you think the big players that rank in big money strictly from having top rankings are sitting around doing it all manually, and by themselves, without tools and resources to aid them you are mistaken.
Yes, you have to be careful that you don't use a service that hurts your rankings so be sure to looking reviews and feed back from actual users.
Also know that getting top ranking and maintaining it is a process and not an overnight things so don't get caught up looking for instant gratification.

The best SEO service is SeoPartner. All good quality stuff that you would not be embarrassed to call your own.
PAID advertising is great, but as soon as you stop paying your traffic drys up. SEO is a heck of alot of time and work, but it has great long term results.

Hi Tatty, We really need to have full control over our web presence. We need to be able to have a way to get our keywords and keyword phrases on the first page of the search engines for our products and services or we're just wasting our time and money.
The training for this usually runs in the thousands and not very many people can afford it. But you can partner up with somebody that has members on the team that have built hundreds of seo sites for big business.
You can also have all the plugins that is crucial for first page ranking for free if they have the developer rights for them. Working together with a mastermind team that has success through your success is how it works now.
SEO tactics change every once in a while and having mastermind webinars that teach all this stuff to your team is xrucial.
Being able to afford it is easy with our team but having a good mindset that looks at the big picture is what you need. But yes, once you learn it you'll be able to do pretty much what you want for your products and services and attract people to your business from organic traffic. Let me know if you need a link to check out.
Oh, it helps if you have a very targeted niche to market to and have some consultative selling techniques to have higher conversions.

SEO is getting pretty scary at the moment, some of the big players like BuildMyRank have recently lost everything due to deindexing by Google. All their customers have been refunded their money for outstanding services and they are giving people the option to remove all links from their blog network. They are being very professional about it which is great. They will have to start all over again.
Any one who is doing it themselves better be on the ball with changes. Googe seems to be getting smarter and smarter.

I really like Sick Submitter. Makes it pretty easy and quick to automate much of your social submissions and it doesn't cost a whole lot compared to some of the other SEO software/services out there.
