Hi Tweb,
Not to my knowledge. Just depends on which commercials are playing at that time. If I remember right, you work late nights. Those types run at that time. A common one at night is the CCF. I get alot of KFP. and the time life is a big late nighter too. But honestly to my knowledge the types do have to do with your cue but not really the amounts of those types. Say you get a lot of pranks/ghosts/Obama/Hilary/Perv calls. It was suggested to me to disco from ADE and re-sign in, to get placed in a different cue. Thats all I know and I don't understand it too much.

I have the same problem, seems to me as if they are just hiring people left and right and don't have enough open spots to keep up. I check it early everyday and through out the day... the same thing, no available skill check back tomorrow. It's been like that for over a week. So I have been applying to other companies and have an interview this week while I wait for more skills to become available.

I am just looking for some feedback, I worked my first shift for west yesterday and did terrible I think. 3 calls, no sells. My first caller said no due to price, didn't remember to log the call before taking second call, then couldn't figure out how to get to what caller was calling about untill after I ended call. Third call was going better till cc was bad, contacted pal to see what invalid value meant and caller had hung up by time I returned. I was about ready to cry and give up. I was just so nervous and felt I didn't know my way oround the order screens well enough yet. Any pointers or helpful advice?

Well, I went to schedule hours for next week and noticed that for Monday (2/25) the per/min talk time rate has decreased. For all of you that have been with West for awhile, is this normal and when do they pick back up?

Tweb, I had scheduled those hours for Monday also, then deleted them in case its a glitch, I am moving back to Florida this weekend, so I figured its a great time to do that. It is not normal tho, I have never seen 15 cent per minute rates ever.

Hello to everybody that has worked for West. I worked for them in 2004 and I didn't like the upsells at all. To me it seemed like they always made the customers mad. My mother passed away in 2004 and I took time off from West to get myself back together again. Than they decided not to hire anybody from Alaska anymore. I finally got fed up with them and started searching for another telephone agent job and finally found one. Just thought you all would like to know this.

Hey lisamarie. Just wanted to say not to freak out. My first few shifts went ok but then I had a little bit of that happen. When you forget to log a call try hitting your make busy button until you figure it out!! It will get easier I promise. Just remember the pals are there to help you and I have had people hang up when I was on with a pal and actually ended up with good feedback. If the c.c. don't go through make sure you have the right number and cc. try running it again and if that don't work simply tell them that cc is not going through that you will need a different one. If they get mad just log it as an inquiry call.

I suggest you go back a page and read the previous posts as we have already covered this. But to get a better idea, no you are not hired yet. You are not hired until your status says "in hired status" this can take up to 3 weeks as a lot of us have experienced. This doesn't mean that you won't get hired, just that it may take a while until you are "officially" hired. You will get a Welcome email when you are officially hired and get all of your info. Hope this helps! And good luck, just be patient and you will get all of your emails and be hired, the process just takes quite a while for some people. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to wait 3 weeks!

You are not hired until your status says "in hired status" this can take up to 3 weeks as a lot of us have experienced Just to clarify the facts here, it can take up to 5 weeks and more for the next step to take place (some have said up to 2 months), especially right now. This Wednesday I will be begining my 5th week (applied 1-22-08) waiting for the next step (the Welcome, you're hired e-mail), which then leads to the webinar, and then the wait for a skill to open for you to begin training. Some say this is an extra slow time for West, but I feel it's more a case of too many employees hired for the available work load at hand. This should be one of their busiest times of the year with people receiving their tax refunds and therefore having extra income at their disposal.
But the point is, if you want to work for West At Home, you'll have to be VERY patient, and with a little luck your time may just eventually come too! Good luck!!!

Thanks for the heads-up ladyathome but sadly the skill shows available but only when I click the view skill button I get the...
"Recruitment for DHL Customer Service is currently closed. Please return to the skill assignment page and request another skill!" ...message! but that's the only skill listed so now I'm almost ready to give up. I was so excited at first about the the chance to work from home and not have to deal with metro Atlanta traffic but now I'm bordering on depression.
My decision to work from home was based on the fact that I was approved with West but now that I'm hired its been weeks with no work. I really love the extra time I have with the kids now but I'm going stir crazy without active employ! How do you guys cope with the waiting? I've got to find a hobby or I'll end up miserable back at my old cubicle after an almost two hour traffic jammed commute but at least that aggravation comes with a paycheck attached.

Quoting: reese30 Hey, does anyone know what DHL CSR is? DHL (Dewey, Huey & Louie) CSR (Customer Service Representative). Should be a good skill! Wish I could be doing that one! I worked for DHL while in college, way back in the early mesozoic period.
