I looked at working for Arise, but I didn't think the starting costs were worth it because I do intend on working that much. Not to mention that I believe they take money out of your check for there services in contracting you out. I wasn't crazy about that!

I want to thank everyone again for providing and sharing all this great info! I've been lurking around here for the past few weeks, and just recently applied to West, now awaiting the hire confirmation. The information provided here is just golden, and I can't express how much difference it makes in going through the process.
If someone has mentioned before what the WEBINAR is, I've either missed it or can't find that info. Could someone explain what that process involves (or direct me to an explanation), and is there is any way to better prepare for the event?
Thanks again!
WorkingAtHomeTX
PS - and special thanks to World1 for trying to answer my (rather exhaustive, I guess) list of questions a week back or so!

Hi tressasmith7654, I sent my notarized work authorization off the same day that I filled out my online forms. I'm sure it was 01/03/08. I started my training this weekend for Direct Response, it was the only skill offered. I guess that's were they need help now. Hopefully I will be finished with the training by the end of the week. I am going to take my time because I have a full time job and don't wont to be too tired trying to get through all the information, and there is A LOT of it. A friend of mine started with West about a month ago and she first selected Direct Response as her skill but failed the test. She warned me to take my time and take notes. It is a necessity. Hope you get your welcome email soon! By the way, I'm in Florida.

Hi guys...first post here. I'm a newbie.
I've finished training on DR. What's my next step? I tried to download the G*TEW*Y but it wouldnt download...so I figured I was pre-mature in that. I read about the webinar....how and who does that? Thanks a lot.

Congrats to all who got their welcome emails (FINALLY!!) Please Please Please!! did I say please?? Take your tests and training slowly! WRITE everything down! It really can seem very simple but those questions can get you in the wording! Enjoy working from home and all the benefits that come with that option! Good luck!

Hello Everyone.. I am also new to dr and have just finished my training and passed the test. I wanted to ask a question..Are there a lot of upsells in dr when you start taking phone calls? Also, I wanted to know how often do phone calls come in once you have logged on. This is my first time working from home and I wanted to have some feedback on anyone who has just started dr and whats it like. I want to start and jump on but I just would like to know how dr is at first.
Thanks...much appreciated. MckenzieR

I just signed up and filled out all the forms but i wanted to know if birth certificates can count as notarized for the submission since they are notarized and how long does it usually take to get another email after sending all the forms and if its normal that the tax form has an x next to it still even though i submitted the acrobat forms?

I am into my second week with actually doing the call taking with west. I am in DR. I just wanted to let all of the new people to know not to freak out. I so did with my first day. Just remember to read the scripts and if you get confused ask your customer to hold, don't hit hold directly hit call a pal!! and some more advice is do not hit the enter key when you go to the c/s screen because then it logs it as c/s. It seems like when I started everything I learned in training was gone. So I called the pals and awful lot. I also read up on the question and answer page from the home menu. I forgot about the knowledge base until about the end of my first week..and yes the apos are crazy..the last one I did I got the giggles because I felt so stupid they already said no to all of the upsells and here I go hitting them with more and when they said no to that I had to read them another one that they said no to. But believe it or not I have had 2 people join. So don't get discouraged. I wish I would have had this website 2 weeks ago.

Most of the time if you are selling a product there are. Sometimes not. It is hard to say about how much you phone will ring. My very first day I started my phone rang off the hook. I made like 60 dollars just doing 30 min shifts here and there on my first day. But then I scheduled some during the week and it was pretty dead. I did not care I just folded clothes because I was getting paid at least min wage to do that!! I also read that it depends on your ranking as to the amount of calls you get. If you get a comcast call don't freak out just do your best to not get the customer upset. We just pretty much take their calls and give them a number from my understanding and if I am wrong on this anyone feel free to let me know. good luck and just do a 30 min shift to start out with so you can get an idea as to what you are going to be doing.

Thanks VK: I'm going to start today for .30 minutes and see how it is. Your encouragement was very helpful. It just seems scarry I guess to start something new. I'll keep you posted on how I do. Also, thanks for the advice on calling a pal, from what you say they seemed to be very helpful.

Hi all, Has anyone in DR, noticed that it is getting harder and harder to pick up hours????? I am looged into S......m right now and there are no hours availble to pick up for next week!!!!!!!!!!! Is it just me and maybe some weird glitch or has anyone else noticed???? Last week I submitted a question, and asked why there were less, and was told that they post them as the contracted companies need them.

As far as hours in spectrum, the best advice I can give you is check the spectrum as often as your time permits. Also, check trades because you can pick up hours that way too.
