Anyone here use home grocery services like PeaPod of FreshDirect? Here is one I go way back with, home delivered groceries, staple goods, not meat or vegetables. I liked the concept, but back in the late 80's it was just too soon to market and flopped.
The Grocery Club was started in 1995 with same founder, and it was also a little too early, although I did pretty well with it, but as with all new concepts, it was just a little too early again.
Now same old friend is starting America Harvest, and this time around, the timing is right. lol What does everyone want to do in a recession, save money, first and formost. With home delivered groceries, combined with my Organic Acres fresh organic food delivery, now all I need is an MLM meat program. lol
Seriously, I research every new business opportunity looking for those exclusive offerings which are backed with verifiable value and products or services the masses already consume, and what is better than groceries for a long term home business. Heck, everyone knows someone who goes to the grocery store on a regular basis, so this may just be the perfect timing this time around given the recession is hurting everyone in the pocket.
Looking at the prices, no doubt, there are significant savings to be realized, and combined with free shipping, which was not offered in earlier attempts, this one may just be one of the best 2010 home businesses as I see it.
Simply put, would you order your groceries like canned goods, detergents, paper goods, cereals, etc. if you could save money and have it delivered to your home by UPS, USPS or FedEx. I don't know about you, but I enjoyed the fact that my UPS man would bring my weekly box of groceries into the kitchen, something about that just felt so good at the time, even though I was paying for shipping, the savings offset most of the shipping if you were selectively ordering what you consumed over and over weekly, you know the items, toilet paper, paper towels, dish and laundry detergents, soaps and cleaners, etc.
If you take a little time with your usual consumption products list, you can eliminate hours and hours in your local grocery store, and I don't know anyone who likes going to grocery store killing a couple hours on a weekend for most, especially with more dual income families struggling to survive this economic disaster we are all going through.
OK, so we have the ability to save money, always good place to start when promoting any business. Now we have the convenience factor, I know that most women would rather run in for a few last minute items and meat or vegetables on the way home from work than spend hours dragging the kids to store on Saturdays where the crowds and lines are the worst. So with those to attributes alone, imagine if you could earn enough passive income spreading the word to work from home, not have a job. How many women would prefer that scenario, and what woman doesn't know grocery shopping like the back of her hand? No learning to earning curve here, and that eliminate the biggest problem in MLM, duplication, and it will also stop attrition as long as everyone is at least saving money and time, an even more valuable aspect for many.
Well, American Harvest launches today, so if nothing else, check the prices and see if this doesn't make sense to you as it always has for me. Timing is everything, and this is the perfect time to start saving money, never mind saving time, and earning an extra passive income simply be sharing concept with others. Sure made sense to me.

UPDATE:
MyHarvestAmerica Groceries Direct has launched, and you won't believe the low prices on the same name brands you are currently purchasing at your local grocery store, but with Harvest America, you will save hundreds of dollars, if not thousands if you have a large family.
I don't know about you, but everyone I mention this to is interested, and when they check out low prices, they are sold on concept immediately, so no selling is required, just telling, and everyone can duplicate this format which will guarantee your success in your home business.

Yes, I have always focused on programs that save people money, bottom line is this is the only way to eliminate attrition, the number one killer of MLM businesses just ahead of gov. lol
I placed my first grocery order, and I am amazed at how much I have saved, never mind the fact I have to drive 17 miles to nearest grocery store, so when I add in gas prices and time wasted fighting the crowds on Saturday's, this is one of those, it just makes too much sense to ignore deals.

Good question Viola,
Yes, there are sample prices on site which give a good indication of prices offered, and you can see them without registering, but if you have a list of usual items you purchase on a regular basis, I will scan listings to post prices for comparison. I went through hundreds already with comparisons on what I usually purchase, and at worse were a few at same price point, but then again, we know grocery stores use loss leaders in the circulars or end of isle deals, so you have to understand the industry before you can see total savings. I will be happy to list a prices if this helps. I have always been frugal when shopping, so I was impressed with prices and selection is pretty good to start, and more items are being added, as well as full organic selection which as we know is twice as expensive locally in grocery stores I shop at.
Wow, I visted your site, and with five children, God bless you, I wouldn't want to be you in local grocery store, been there, done that. lol The monthly membership is what supplements free shipping costs and obviously, commissions, so with a little passive effort you can easily offset the $29.95 almost immediately. I work with several charities which support seniors, meals on wheels, etc., and they love the concept, so senior market or apartment dwellers, or those in rural areas are great target market. I have to drive 17 miles to nearest grocery store, so I am in heaven given the winter snows that we got hit with, and another storm coming, so I am certain you will see advantages more than anyone else. lol

Yea I looked at Harvest America...... All I can say is something don't smell right in Denmark. One the track record of grocery mlm's. Two how can they offer free shipping on all orders. Say you buy the cofee for $5 and it cost them $8 for shipping and you order 25 x a day 30 days a month. hmmmm Three they offer 2x your money back if you can find the product cheaper. Yes their prices are good but had found many to be cheaper else where. Good luck on this one because its domed to fail.

I looked into this in the last few days, as I was very interested at first. I think it's a great idea if you have a large family and will sponsor people. But, if you are going to be just a subscriber, I don't think you will break even every month. Even though the prices are discounted, the monthy subscription charge will add the savings right back. You would have to order a lot to make it worthwhile.
Also, I don't know if you realize it, but this doesn't include perishables, like dairy and refrigerated items. Because of that, people will have to go to the store anyway.
With all that said, if you sponsor, this can turn out to be quite lucrative.

Interesting,
Having been involved in the first launch of home groceries, I loved it, and we had to pay shipping back then, but the convenience was the main reason I liked concept, and given the fact it was MLM made it more appealing, even if it were offering only same prices, the cost of driving to grocery store cost more overall as I was in rural area.
I have spent the last couple days scanning prices with what I have in pantry and the savings is significant, so as I see it, the $29.95 more than pays for I have saved more than that on my first order, so I am impressed, even if there was no business opportunity attached which is one of the first things I evaluate before promoting it, is there real verifable value, and yes, there is.
I got call from Fred today and had a long conversation about the market and timing with so many who shop online now, and we agreed, this is the right time, and judging from the level of interest I am seeing, and the fact thousands have already registered, and shipments have already gone out, this is a very positive sign in my opinion.
I put together my first order and I am saving way more than the membership fee, and if I only place four equal orders a month, I am saving about $111.00 a month, more than worth it for anyone with average orders for average family. One example is with Rachel Ray's Nutrish dog food. She donates all profits to pet rescue, so I had tried it and my dog loved it, but only problem was, not many strores carry it yet. When shopping for pet food, always make sure first ingredient is meat, not corn meal, so this is a quality product which I had paid $11.70 for 6lb. bag, and through MyHarvestAmerica, it was only $6.16, nearly half the price and shipping is free.
Naturally, small families will not see the same savings potential, so then you have to weigh in the cost of driving to store, the cost of your time in the grocery store, and time is money in my case, maybe not so for many others. Then we have winter weather which has been horrific lately, and my worst nightmare, door dings in the parking lot. lol
With even a minor bit of effort sharing concept with others, there is no way you cannot cover the small monthly fee. Since everyone eats, everyone is interested that I have spoken to. With over a thousand registering in first day, if that doesn't say it all, nothing does. It is all about timing, and where it was to market to early in the 90's when online shopping was still not at a comfort level for most, now it is, heck, everyone orders online now, just look at Amazon sales figures this year.
When I evaluate a business, it has to offer true verifiable value, and MHA does, even more than I expected. It is all about organizing your repeat purchased items, paper goods, canned goods, detergents, cleaning products, all the heavy items in general which most hate to lug, especially if you live in an apartment or are a senior citizen, as example. With 70M plus baby boomers, I see this market only expanding for home groceries industry. Combine that with the unemployment issues, and millions looking for a home business, I cannot find one negative even if you don't share it with others, and that is extremely rare in the world of MLM.
Since this is only the third company I have researched which technically involves no selling or recruiting, just telling and sharing, I think this is duplicatable by anyone with minimum effort, I would say it has to be more difficult to fail than succeed. I have always said, the biggest problem in MLM is the 97% attrition rate, and if only you could reverse that, you would have guaranteed success in MLM industry. Again, everyone eats, always will, even when broke and unemployed, you have to eat. Sure sounds like a recession proof business to me. lol

I totally agree, though, that it will probably be a very successful business as long as the company doesn't fold... so good luck and many blessings in 2010.

That is so true, but then there are exceptions, and this is one which you are not technically selling. Everyone wants to save money, everyone eats, and everyone needs more free time, and in recession, everyone wants to earn more money, so we shall see, but knowing the CEO personally for two decades plus sure helps since I know him well, and I asked all the key questions, so I doubt there is much chance of folding given the low overhead structure.

Just another example of recent order, so when you consider most shop every week, the small subcription charge based on each week is only $7.48 and I couldn't hire anyone to shop, bag and deliver for this little per week, so I can't see how anyone could not save money even small familes or those who shop every two weeks.

Well, I am even more impressed than ever, my poor FedEX man had to park on street as I have a 400 ft. steep driveway and it snowed again, so when he had to hand deliver latest four box delivery, he was huffing and puffing, so jokingly he asked what this was, hoping it wasn't going to be repeated? lol
I said, sorry, but think of the bright side, you have better job security now, then I told him it was my weekly grocery order. lol He said, WHAT? Long story short, he talks to so many people who he delivers to who cannot get out at all and order almost everthing online, and then the light went off in his head, how can I get groceries delivered to my home?
This is not selling, it is telling, I didn't have to hype the income opportunity, he saw it for what it is, a major help to so many who cannot get out, and with this winter being the worse on record for so many, talking about timing, this is it, people hate going out in this cold wealther, and look at GA and FL, snowed and created thousands of accidents on ice, picked up more than few of these customers, and again, not a single mention of income opportunity which proves more than anything, this is going to spread like wildfire, and seeing over 2,000 paying subscribers over week of Christmas, this says it all.

Site has been further enhanced with a video on items and prices and an even larger organic section which I am big on given local prices for organic are twice non organic brands. Vist Organic-Groceries-Direct.com and click on National Grocery Store link at top of site for overview on prices. Here is my latest order now that I am certain of the savings, selection and the free delivery. I was able to find almost every single item brand I normally purchase, plus some I gave up looking for locally like Rachael Ray's Nutrish dog food. I got it for half price from Harvest America saving over $6.00 per bag, simply amazing and why everyone will be shopping online for groceries in the future to save money, time and hassle of grocery shopping.

Amazing, the savings everyone is seeing is beyond my expectations having gotten a dozen of my teams results to date, so if you think you can't save money with My Harvest America, you just aren't thinking.
Skeptics welcome, put your last grocery list up here and I will scan it with our online store prices if you don't want to join first. I have not had one person come up with less than 27% savings on name brand groceries, and this does not include saving on sales tax which varies from state to state, in my case, 8.125% on non food items like detergents, soap, cleaners, dish liquid, glass cleaner, etc.
Everyone to date has saved more than the subscription costs in first order, most will order two to four times a month, so where else in MLMland can you actually save more money than you spend from very first day? How many MLM's do you know where you earn more than you burn trying? Hey, I like MLM leverage, but in almost every case, you are paying far more than product or service is worth, not so with Grocery-Savers program with MyHarvestAmerica.

UPDATE:
It took some time, but I took my most recent received order, which ended up costing $197.98 because one item out of 109 items was out of stock. As MI, where orders are sent from require prices on each item before being sold, this make it pretty easy to identify your savings without having to go to store looking at a hundred items to get price comparison. I had a total of $338.89 in items for a total savings of $135.91 on my second order bringing my total savings to over $200.00 in first month with MHA.
Savings aside, I ordered heavy items like canned goods, jarred, detergents, dog food, cleaners, everything I could think of that was heavy to test packaging quality, and not one item was damaged, although large pickle jar did crush the corner of a box of cereal, that was it, no damage to product. Also, given the fact they offer the option of checking off box accepting substitutes, I wanted to fully test system this time around, so I checked off YES on all items, and low and behold, out of 109 items, only one was subsituted, Bumble Bee tuna was Starkist, and I can live with that as I purchase whichever is lowest price anyhow. lol
Bottom line, as I see it, this is an incredible opportunity to save money, and time if like me you live a long way from lowest price grocery store, Walmarts in my case, a 28 mile trek, and in the winter, not a fun one. Closest grocery store is 11 miles, but given it is the only one within about 15 mile radius, prices are higher for obvious reasons, not good.
Since this is an opportunity forum, I ask you, how much money have you saved in any other MLM or such direct sale company in the past? Having researched them all for years, I can honestly say zero, nada, none, not a dime. I am talking about saving money here, not earning money which may offset your purchase costs, so to make it clear, I am talking about money saved, not earned. Imagine that, an MLM which actually will save you money on what you are already purchasing elsewhere for more. I am also not counting money saved on gas and time to get to grocery store.
I don't know about anyone else, but this impressed my having never heard of one person to come out in the plus column financially in first month in any business, and I do mean any. If anyone has another experience where they were able to save $200.00 in first month in their own business. Of course, my shopping per week is in the $250.00 range, so having placed my third order, I estimate I will save about $300.00 a month now that I have tested all aspects of program, learned how to use the site and navigate the site more efficiently and set up my repeat item purchase pattern.
In closing, it is impossible not to come out with savings in a month for an average family, but with so many variables, you have to do your own calculations, but for our family, well worth it, and I never even mentioned my commissions, and isn't that refreshing, a service which is loaded with value enough so not to even have to mention the income opportunity, another first and only in my experience. I work several recession proof businesses, but this one just moved to the top of my list given my requirement of value being most important in these tough economic times where people are struggling everyday.
Here is that one home business everyone can succeed at, and even if they don't share it with anyone else, your personal savings can easily be hundreds if not thousands in savings each year, and with gas prices heading up again, add that to your total savings, my numbers are about $20.00 a month on gas savings, but don't use my figures, everyone is different, and just as others will save less, many more will save more. Heck, one friend saved over $200.00 on her first order, and as she has 5 kids, I understand how much she can save as diapers and other baby products offer some of the best savings, up to 50% or more in a few cases, but what sold her was having to drag all her kids to store as a single Mom, not easy even if not a single Mom. One of the biggest issues I surveyed was just that, the time it took getting all your kids into car to go grocery shopping, or getting a sitter once a week for a couple hours, another expense avoided.
Find the many reasons why you will enjoy saving money, time and hassle, it is easy to list the positives and negatives of online shopping, especially grocery shopping. Trying to coordinate coupons to items you need when you need them was always a hassle, looking for those weekly loss leader sales items and often seeing them out of stock. On and on we can go, but I have yet to hear a negative, so other than the word MLM for many, I can't think of one negative, can you? Seriously, I need all the negatives I can hear to hone my presentation to local food banks, church programs like Angel Ministries and senior groups, so can anyone add any negatives?
