If all I got was an random flyer in the mail and was asked to pay $200 to join, so that I could make money, I would hold on to the money in my wallet!

It's a direct mail business. I came across it in my research on direct/postcard mail opportunities. It's not a scam opportunity at all. A friend of mine decided to go with them because he thought they offered nice residual plan with their direct mail opportunity. I thought otherwise and proceed with what I do.
The flyer is part of the marketing strategy and the beauty of it, just like with postcard marketing, anyone can do it and there isn't a learning curve to get your marketing up and going nor for those that would follow behind you in the business.

He hasn't seen much because he hasn't consistently marketed it from what I know.
That business is set up to be strictly direct mail, and simple. He liked that but as with all business opportunities consistency and commitment payoff. Instant wealth is primarily for lotto winners, which most will never be. I make money with my business because of consistency and commitment, and others here will tell you the same.
I didn't like the business primarily because it didn't offer website setup, but of course that is contrary to its program; along with the opportunity for generating residual income from that versus being completely dependent on others to mail out to generate you residual income.
I don't want, and am not looking, to put down million mail at all. I just personally didn't care for that particular setup and system, but certainly others do, such as my friend, and are working the opportunity. I just received one of their flyer/letters in the mail today.

The flyer may have been seemingly random, but the person who mailed it was a REAL person. The key to knowing whether or not it is a scam is to call the person who mailed you and really talk to them. If they do NOT provide a phone number to call them, don't even bother. If they do, it is a good sign of a legit business.
Like me. I always provide my phone number.

Interesting,
I know one person who is doing well with it, but like others stated, you are paying for a how to market manual, and as most know, $200. for a booklet is what you are selling, you send $100. to your sponsor and another $100. to their sponsor, pretty basic, but rememeber, you have to pay for the bookets and the cost of mailing, never mind having a mailing list to send flyers or post cards to generate orders, and I don't know about you, but it takes thousands of mailings to even hope for 1% conversion.
Good luck,
