BobFirestone: I hate to revive a thread that has been inactive for so long but I think it would be interesting to see how many of the people who were involved in the original thread are still active in FreedomRocks and how their trading has done? I am curious as well. I have never done trading in my life, but I have been hearing a lot about the forex trading lately and I happened to stumble upon this forum. I would appreciate any imput or pms. Thanks

I think I've heard the name before. Though I don't know much about the company. A quick question, does forex really pays as much as it is touted to?

Sam_Jones: A quick question, does forex really pays as much as it is touted to? Yes and No. Over any sustained length of time the majority (80-90%) will lose most or all of the money in their trading account. The losers money goes to pay the winners. It is like the lottery, if you win the potential is huge but the odds of you winning are very low. It's not just Forex, the numbers are about the same for people actively trading stocks & commodities also. The leverage Forex & commodities make it a lot faster. The winners in trading are best compared to the top poker players. If you watch a bunch of poker tournaments it's the same guys winning all the money. In trading it is the same way the winners take the money and the losers cycle out and get replaced with a fresh batch.

Interesting,
I have been involved in FOREX for years, and actually evaluated it as I do most systems when it launched, and although there was some merit to the strategy, there was winners and losers like with all trading systems.
The initial hype sold the deal, and although I did do well, when markets got crazy in 2008, I jumped on the sidelines and I am glad I did, most lost all that they had gained in previous year which system worked well and most got greedy. Win and lose, that is consistant in all markets, no difference in FOREX.
When searching for Freedom-FOREX FOREX4FREE system, I came across all these old threads on FreedomRocks FOREX, and they are all dead threads, makes you wonder, did everyone bail like I did since very few current posts exist? Oh well, with this new system, they are giving you $200.00 Cash to evaluate their automated trading system, and in all my years I was never offered free money to trade with before. lol
Success to all,

Freedom Rocks was hit hard by the correction of the carry trade.
According to a FR insider I know as of last fall their membership dropped from about 10,000 members to about 2,500.

Interesting,
Thanks for update, I wondered what happened, and in my search, it appears they got hit harder than I thought hearing it dropped to 2,500 members, then again, I wonder how many are paying. lol
I suspect this is why they are now pushing debt elimination program, trying to breath life into what has become a dead horse as carry trades have not worked for almost two years that I know of.
With so many FOREX trading programs, I was always looking for a less research and monitoring system for I don't have the time I once had, and this is what I liked about original FR system, but the party was over at end of first year, so I moved on, just found Freedom-FOREX system which is offering free cash start up account of $200., never heard of that before, but given there is zero risk, was worth a try, and so far, so good.
Success to all,

Most retail investors shouldnt trade the forex. One fat finger can put an account in margin fast. People use leverage too loosely and trading pairs like the eur/jpy or gbp/jpy can put you in the poor house fast. Your better off gambling in the casino and I dont care how automated the system at some point being highly leveraged your going to tap out.

I couldn't agree more with the point retail investors shouldn't trade anything with out first learning the rules of the game. Properly using leverage requires learning what it is and how it is your best friend when you are right and your worst enemy when you are wrong.
For people who do want to take the time to learn to trade Forex isn't the worst option. Forex is an over the counter market so the broker is the counter party on all the transactions and most have a zero debt liability meaning that their computers will close out all open positions if the account is at $0. With mini & micro accounts you can put a little skin in the game but not enough to send you to the poor house.
Anyone who is actively trading with out first learning what they are doing are better off in a casino. At least they will get a couple of free drinks before their money is gone.

You are correct Bob. Although there are some brokers who actually dont take the other sides of your bets and those are the only brokers you want to trade with. Actually if you want to play the foreign exchange markets you should trade forex futures listed on the cme. At least that is regulated. Playing at chop shops is a sure way to go into massive debt.
The real way to make money in this industry is to market unique services or products that people want or need without the oppty attached to it. What I am in now is a win win situation for all involved. After making money from home for 7 years now I know what to look for and what works. And its refreshing to have something where just one contact can net me tens of thousands of dollars or even a 100k+ . Success to all.
Chris
