How does the "pricey" Rich Jerk stack up against the "free" dotcomology. I haven't read RJ but was wondering how much better it could be for its price. I give away Dotcomology on a couple of sites and really thought it was extremely knowledgeable.
Just asking for feedback...

I think that The Rich Jerk is over rated and over priced. I have always recommended Holly Mann's ebook instead. If Dotcomology is free, then you can't go wrong with that...

Hi,
The rich jerk a.k.a. Kelly Felix and Stone Evans actually promote each other. Stone is the author of Docomology and I have read this e-book. It is a great book. I also am a member of his Plug-In-Profitsite and If your a newcomer to IM then his package is by far the best I've ever seen. He gives you a step by step method to follow for 30 days and on top of that there is a series of 42 videos to learn from as well. Here's a link to check it out: [Link removed - Admin]
Sincerely,
Brice Mattson

Agreed. I think you get more bank for your buck with Holly's book, plus you have a resource for support.
I reviewed both books at the site in my sig. Both reviews are over 500 words so you should be able to get a good idea of what is in each book before purchasing. Their are some other online products reviewed, including Profit Monster. PM focuses more on AdWords, while the others touch on it briefly. It really depends on what you want to do online to make money as to which product is better suited for you. Rich Jerk is $50 and Holly's book is $20. Honestly, I don't think there is an additional $30 in value in the Rich Jerk's book compared to Holly's. Holly's book also comes with a boatload of non-viral freebies that I've used again and again.

Rich Jerk is a vital case study in the art of branding on the internet. I bought his book just to see how his mind works.
$50 invested in my education is nothing compared to what I learned by studying the book. I don't focus on affiliate marketing or selling affiliate programs, which is generally what RJ is about.

What attracts me to good affiliate programs is the opportunity to earn residual income. After reading RJ, i do prefer Stone Evans "dotcomology" because it was free, thorough and written for the serious home business entreprenuer. Dotcomology's teachings can be applied to any niche or any affiliate program. Working your way up the search engine ladder is the secret to long term traffic.

don't bother with all these books... go find them online... no point paying for them. They won't thank you for buying their books.

I'd read the new updated version which is only $9.95. So its definitely a steal when compared to $47.

Hi,
I know thos thread has some "age" in it but its interesting to look back and what people said about things....
Stone's Dotcomolgy is a good read especailly for the new person and I often found the personality of the RJ to get in the way of what I was trying to learn....
I am sure there are things in Dotcomolgy that are now outdated but it still has tons of things you can learn about internet marketing if your fairly new to this endeavor.
Take care Jeff Casmer
