A lot of people have discovered that eBay is a great way to earn money online. Most people know about the traditional methods of earning money with eBay by selling products via online auctions, but not a whole lot of people know about eBay's affiliate program.
What is eBay's affiliate program? It is a profit sharing program which pays you for referring clients to eBay. You can earn up to $25 for referring a new client to eBay, and earn up to 75% of eBay's revenue per sales transactions from existing eBay members.
There is a program called Build A Niche Store (BANS) that displays live listings from eBay on your website, which allow you to make money from eBay's affiliate program. You can also earn additional revenue from Google Adsense and other affiliate products you can promote from your Build A Niche Stores.
You are not going to get rich from your BANS websites, but some people from the BANS forum have reported earnings of $1,000 a month, and you can get started for less than $100. Some people even sell their BANS websites for huge profits after their BANS websites get established online.
After your initial investment, the only other expenses that are required for Build A Niche Store is a domain (website address) and web hosting. A domain will cost you less than $10 for an entire year, and you can get a web hosting account for less than $10 a month.
BANS does not require any technical expertise to get started, and comes with step by step instructions on getting your BANS stores up and running. Some people may feel a little bit overwhelmed when they set up their BANS stores for the first time, but if this happens, you can get help from the Adam and Kelvin, the two guys who invented Build A Niche Store. They offer excellent free tech support, and there is also a very helpful members only forum.
Having said all of this, I highly recommend Build A Niche Store, especially if you have not yet made any money on the internet...you have no idea how awesome it is to finally get that first sale, particularly when you have been ripped off in the past. I can honestly say that Build A Niche Store has been the easiest way I've ever made money online!

That is interesting. I hadn't thought of that angle. I do have about a dozen pages on my chocolate site that contain related RSS feeds from ebay (chocolate apples on ebay, chocolate pretzels on ebay, etc.). I am an affiliate with ebay and get the commissions you mentioned above.
I always go through my own site's ebay links no matter what I am purchasing on ebay so that I will get that little extra commission myself.
It would be clever to build a niche store with all ebay products. I'm sure it would be scary the first time, hoping you do each step correctly. You're right that it isn't a highly profitable venture, but the advantage is that once you have it set up, I suspect it runs on autopilot.
A good idea for someone to try who is just starting out and doesn't want to take the plunge into a full content site.
It was good of you to mention it.

When you are doing your initial setup, all you are doing is uploading the BANS files to your hosting account, so its hard to mess that part up. If for some reason you don't get something right, Adam and Kelvin can identify it for you in a few minutes. After the initial set up, you just customize your store from there.
Yes, Build A Niche Store does run on auto pilot. Of course, it helps to optimize your BANS stores, and it helps to find good eBay niches without lots of competition - last time I checked, eBay has approximately 28,000 categories, so there are a lot of possibilities.
The great thing is that once you purchase your Build A Niche Store license, you can build an unlimited amount of BANS stores, so you can promote as many different niches as you want.

Unfortunately, a lot of things out there are a total waste of money, but this is definately not the case with BANS.

I just went to http://www.buildanichestore.com and it does looks interesting.
I've heard the top ebay affiliate are making $100,000+/month. This would definitely makes it easy to build your own store.
Gotta try this...

Yes, I do think I will consider this in the new year once some of my other projects get a bit more advanced and require less effort. I must remember this one.

Well...most people are probably not going to make $100,000 a month with your BANS stores, as this would mean you are making LOTS of sales, and getting a TON of traffic. However, since you can get unlimited licences, you can put a lot of stores up and gradually increase your income.

Is the money worth for building a BANS? Do they offer products like herbal things? I already have a website, can I build BANS using my own website? Thank you in advance.

BANS is definately worth the money! You can build a BANS stores in virtually any niche, as long as there are product listings for it on eBay. You can integrate BANS into your own website, or start from scratch on a new BANS website with a new domain - that is what I do.

Thank you so much for your information, getagrip! I am very interested in that. If you can answer the following two questions, I'll appreciate it:
1. Do you recall that they offer herbal products there?
2. For one time fee you pay, do they offer you ebooks to learn or else how does it work?

1. You will have to check http://eBay.com to see if they offer the kinds of herbal products you are looking for. If eBay offers the herbal products you are looking for, then you can build a BANS store around that product.
2. They do offer an installation manual, which covers how to install BANS and some other things. However, you will learn the most from the BANS forum in terms of what to do AFTER you have your BANS stores up and running, but it is also very helpful if you run into any technical problems while you are installing your BANS stores, or if you have any other questions. You can also contact the BANS creators directly for any kind of support you need - they are VERY responsive to your questions!

Hi getagrip,
Will you pm your BANS store address to me. I'd like to take a look at your site to see how it is laid out, etc.
Thanks.

How are you getting traffic to your BANS sites? I would assume you'd need a lot of traffic to get enough visitors to convert into sales.

100% of my traffic is SEO, with my best site averaging about 16.5 hits a day for the month of April.
There are several different ways to generate a good income with BANS:
1. Build a few BANS stores and optimize them so they do well in the search engines.
2. Build a bunch of "basic" sites without optimizing them.
3. Build a bunch of sites and optimize them.
I prefer the second option, and I've been able to generate affiliate commissions of over $500 in a single month from my BANS stores using this method. New domains only cost $6.99 per year at 1and1.com, and it only takes me about 15 minutes to set up new stores, so it is both cost effective and time effective.
A lot of BANS users spend some time optimizing their stores which gives them more search engine traffic and more sales - I know of someone who has earned $2,000 a month from their BANS stores, and others who have earned even more - not bad for an initial investment of $97!

Instead of buying several domains couldn't you just open the stores on sub domains? Are sub domains seo friendly?

Yes, you could do that...BUT, from what I understand, subdomains aren't as effective as they used to be. At one time, Google treated subdomains as seperate domains (or so I'm told), but rumor has it that this is no longer the case. That is something I plan to expirament with at some point, but you could always start off with that strategy and see how it works.
There are so many different theories floating around out there about what SEO strategies are effective and which ones aren't, that you just have to kind of test things out for your self, but if you set things up correctly, you should be fine either way you go, since you can customize your BANS stores to be very SEO friendly.
