25 Apr 2008 01:04 - Attached on merging:
BANS Stores do they work?

Have to say I am curious.

Is it worth the price? Are they easy to set up?

Has anyone noticed a decrease in traffic due to the May Ebay boycott coming up? Wonder if this boycott will affect niche stores?

And the big question..

Do you make money when people actually buy something on Ebay or click the link to the auction? Or both- how does it work?

Any info from anyone thats using the program sucessfully?

TIA

Hi Deanna ~ BANS is a great product, and I'm a BANS member myself - in my best month, I earned over $500 with my BANS stores.

I wouldn't worry too much about the eBay boycott - my stores are all getting plenty of traffic - when old Powersellers leave eBay, it just opens the door for new sellers to take their places. Also, because eBay raised their final value fees, it means more money for affiliates!

As far as making money with eBay is concerned, you get at least 50% of eBay revenue for sales you generate through your BANS stores, and you also get paid $25 when new members sign up for eBay, so its a great program. I've got more information about BANS if you want to check out my video.

Hi Getagrip,

I took a peek at both of your video's both seem like good programs to get into.Which did you sign up for first?

WA seems like a good beginner course. I am new to the affiliate scene-so I feel it may be beneficial first?

On the other hand, I'm also an impatient person and would like to get my foot in the door and do better learning hands on.

Between the 2 programs, which would you purchase first?

TIA,
Deanna

That's a really tough question, because both are great programs but have such a different philosophy. I think BANS is a lot easier than Wealthy Affiliate - there is a lot less work involved, and the sales will come a lot easier than they would with Wealthy Affiliate.

On the other hand, the sales you will generate with Wealthy Affiliate will pay a lot more than BANS (eBay) sales, and Wealthy Affiliate will also give you much better marketing skills, since BANS really doesn't cover marketing strategies outside of the BANS forum. Of course, you have to find the right niches on eBay to make good money with BANS - which Wealthy Affiliate shows you how to find...so, I would say check out BOTH if you could!

So, it just depends on you...both are great programs, but like I said, BANS is definately easier to make money with, although you will get out of it what you put into it - the more time you spend optimizing your stores and adding content to them (or building new stores in different eBay niches, which is what I do), the more money you will make, and if you do decide to go with BANS, at some point you should also check out Wealthy Affiliate (and vice versa), since Wealthy Affiliate will help you on the marketing side of things.

I have heard positive things about it through friends. I hear it is great after you do allot of work, however if you are not prepared to do allot of work, working from home is probably not for you. They said it took a couple of month to see much of a profit.

Yeah - its definately hard to knock BANS, and this is a program that I'd recommend to anyone that I know who wants to start earning money online, and I have recommended it to both family members and friends.

As far as putting in a lot of work is concerned, I agree that the more work you put into your BANS stores, the more money you are going to make, although I don't think you have to spend a whole lot of time on your BANS stores to make a descent amount of money from them - maybe a few hours each week per store, although I usually don't spend much time on them other then setting them up, and then submitting them to search engines and directories, and also throwing up some advertisements on USfreeads.com.

Having said that, BANS is the easiest money I've ever made online, and I have not spent a lot of time on my stores - I'd probably make even more money with my BANS stores if I spent as much time working on them as I do in forums like this LOL!

The recurring theme is that you have to promote it and compete.

Online stores is a huge catagory and not easy to get visibilty.

Be very careful here folks.

Warmly

That isn't entirely true. As long as there isn't too much competition, BANS stores do well in the search engines because the content is constantly changing - eBay has auctions that are always ending and new auctions that are always starting, so you don't need to worry about suplicate content.

You aren't likely to get a lot of traffic for the "main" keywords to your BANS stores, but you can get traffic for the long tailed and less obvious keywords without promoting your store at all, and these keywords are very targeted. For example, here are some keywords that people have typed in to Google which the found my consumer electronics store:

aragon aurum for sale
1980 s vintage pioneer automatic turntable circuit
mini portable digital temperature sensor
pioneer pl-55x
nagra-sn manual
vintage grundig fm tuners
consumer eletronics wholesaler
ar 4x acoustic research
asr 880 amplifier class
1970 s pioneer speakers hpm100

Most of these are oddballs that I would never think of myself, but you can rank well in Google with these kinds of keywords, which are being typed in from consumers who are ready to buy - this is how you make your money with BANS, and this is how you can compete in the search engines.

There are more affordable ways to build a niche store with RSS feeds! I have scripts and videos and will be offering the stores all made for less very soon.

That's what I've done with my chocolate candy site. I have a section on "Chocolate and Ebay" with several pages dedicated to RSS feeds with particular chocolate candy related products on ebay. This was free to do and has the advantage of getting the automatic ranking of my site attributed to it.

I'll admit though that I don't really make many sales through my ebay pages. I'm not sure why. Perhaps that's really not what my visitors are actually looking for.

If it was a different niche I might do better with that. A number of people using SBI have incorporated RSS feeds from ebay on their sites. Some of them do very well. I know a 'watch guy' that does quite well with it.

Since SBI added the functionality of 'InfinIt' which lets you plug in just about anything to your site there are a number of people adding BANS stores as a subdomain to their site. I just wonder if there is a significant difference in sales depending on the setup of RSS the way we already have it or a BANS.

Time will tell...

This almost seems to easy to be true. It also sounds extremly interesting. I'd really like to make alittle $300-$500 a month using something like this... How many BANS stores would I have to acctauly start to make that much? I didn't really understand the process of starting a BANS store. You said all you do is get your BANS licence, upload some products that you think you would sell and launch the site? Or is it more like article marketing where you have to acctauly write a bunch of content about the products? Thanks in advance for your help getagrip as I already know, I'll probley have an answer within refreshing the page in 5 minutes. LOL...

Well...you don't actually upload any "products" - you upload the BANS software that will allow you to display live eBay feeds on your website.

As far as how many BANS stores to build to make a profit, my philosophy is "the more, the merrier". I do know of some people who are making good money with only a handful of optimized BANS stores in which they add a lot of unique content to. Of course, this approach requires more work.

However, I prefer to spend $6.99 for new domains, and keep building "plain" BANS sites, which has worked well for me, but if you take this approach, you need at least 10 stores to make a descent profit. The reason I say this is because you will find that BANS stores are sometimes hit or miss - you might build 10 stores, and find that only 5 of those make a good profit, while the other 5 are worthless...

Getagrip....Why are you telling everybody?? lol The more you tell, the more the competition!

No seriously, thank you. This looks like a great opportunity. How much did you make when you first started? Was it hard for you to market the site? I want to do this but Im nervous. Are you also a part of the affiliate program? I didn't see your link for it. One other question...did you pay alot to advertise? Thank you for sharing this info.

Here are my latest thoughts on BANS:

While BANS is a great product, I don't know if I can honestly recommend it to newbies. I think you might be better off learning the fundamentals of affiliate marketing first, then purchasing BANS once you have a grasp on affiliate marketing - and for that, I'd recommend Wealthy Affiliate.

So...BANS is a great product, but I don't know if its the best place for newbies to start out if you want to get into affiliate marketing, and I don't recommend it if you can't build at least 5 to 10 stores in different niches, since finding a niche that converts can be a challenge.

Having said that, if you are an intermediate affiliate marketer and want a good product, I'd definately recommend BANS!

Hello,

BANS is good but don't forget to treat it like a real business and do a little marketing yourself. Try Round Robin Article Marketing, nickel a click PPC and even $15 offline newspaper ads.
