Hi,

I am thinking about buying a ready made webstore from ebiz-u.com which will contain products from amazon. Commision in then earned on sales. Has anyone tried this or heard good/bad things about ebiz-u.com? It looks OK but I've never done anything like this before so I'm a little nervous!

I checked it out. Looks like one of those programs that gives you what's called a "mirror" website. It would be just like any who sign-up for the program get. ebiz-u tells you how to promote your website and recommends LinksMaster link exchange, search engine submittal and PPC or pay per click advertising.

You could get better results with the above advertising methods if you had your own website at your own domain with no-one else having anything like it. That's the problem I see with mirror websites - everyone is promoting the same things with the same keywords etc.

One program I've heard some good things about that claims to help people promote mirror websites - SpinSuccess. If you are going with something like ebiz-u then you might look at SpinSuccess. OR, you might consider getting your OWN website and sign-up for free affiliate programs of your choice and promote what you want to on YOUR site.

Up to you.

Thanks Mark, having your own site would be better. I am in the process of building a website with bluevoda but as I'm learning as I go it will be months before it will be ready so I tought I'd get the ebiz-u up and runnning in the mean time. Because I can post articles, my own content, links to pdfs etc and can choose my own domain name I though it would be a quicker way to stary earning. But I suppose any time I spend tying to promote ebiz-u site means the less time I have to build my own site. Oh decisions decisions!

Thanks for the info on Spin Success. I'll have a look.

I agree if you sign up for a program like this then it's often better too get your own web domain name as it would stand out from the rest, I really like the advertising suggestions they provide on their website which includes putting adds on notice boards & even advertising in local newspapers.

I live in a remote area of Australia & having this kind of business sounds very tempting for me, I looked at SpinSuccess & the impression that I got was that you have too have their link on your site before they will submit your site on any search engine.

My E-Biz site went up on Tuesday & so far I have had 62 hits on my site as I have been using free advertising, sending out e-mails too all my contacts & posting on forums with my link in my sig, I know that may not sound much but this morning I checked my site stats & today alone I have had over 20 hits.

I have been quite surprised with the advertising methods I've been using so far, I really didn't think that the free web submission sites would work that well but I've been proved wrong. I am planing on using other forms of advertising such as notice boards in town & I can even advertise my site on local media which will be good.

I have signed up with several affiliate programs which will be going up soon plus I'm planning on using link exchange as apart of my campaign.

Hi Clem,

Well done. Glad to see it's working out for you. A lot of products sold on Amazon are not shipped globally. I have often gone to order a product only to find that they won't ship it to me here in Ireland. From a buyers point of view if I saw a local advert in for a global shopping centre I would assum it ships globally and I would be a bit peeved if I went to order something only to be told that the product couldn't be shipped to my country. Just my 2 cents worth. The site looks great. Hope your getting sales and not just hits.

With some sites they consider Ireland too be apart of the UK which in my opinion dose disadvantage people like yourself, I guess the only way around it is if you had a friend in the UK you could use their address as the shipping destination & then they could ship the product too you. I know this sounds very messy in terms of the waiting time but that's the only way I can think of in relation too getting a product that you ordered.

I stumbled across this forum and I've had a site for several years with ebiz-u. I have to say the support they provide is excellent, and the folks over there have helped me learn alot about running an online business. I can't say I'm getting rich yet, but I've been making a few hundred dollars extra every month pretty consistently, even in this recession.
