Holy potato batman........I signed up to profit lance many moons ago. Done all the reading, played about with a couple of affiliate links, no websites or anything.

thing is, I understood the concepts but felt totally overwhelmed by everything. such as building sites, competing with the thousands out there doing the same thing, the costs, and so on.

I got disheartened and just didnt do anymore. I quit before i started really. This was last year. But shock...today I got some mail. the red writing on the envelope said "clickbank.com". I thought "oh my word...what the heck is going on...I hope I dont owe them money!"

with apprehension I opened the envelope and there was a cheque for $125.01! I dont even know what it was for!!! Its not a lot by any stretch of the imagination. But it was just an amazing surprise.

I posted this thread because its re-kindled my faith in the affiliate system. So if you are like me and get disheartened easy and lose faith...just remember it takes time, dont expect much but it could still work out!

Matt, that's a wonderful story!

Surprises like that are good for the soul, and the wallet. You can login to your ClickBank account and see the details pertaining to the cheque.

Your experience is proof that some systems work by default. Just imagine how much your cheque could have been if you had worked the system.

But I suspect you'll be sharing more good news in the near future, now that your faith has been restored.

Hermas

LOL - I like that I might borrow that sometime.

Your story is a great one. What happened was that you have to have a certain amount of sales before you can get a check from Clickbank and man you are a lucky duck, because most of us spent several weeks or months sitting on pins and needles, checking our clickbank stats every day, holding our breath till that first check came in and here you were totally oblivious and you still got your check.

What a GREAT story!

Congratulations Matt!

I have received surprise income from Adsense and Squidoo royalty payments.

Nothing major, yet a pleasant surprise.
I think I have the Squidoo bug...

That's a great story, Matt.

I think I'm going to stop checking my Clickbank account. I've been going there daily. You know what they say about a watched pot...

That's awesome news! Looks like whatever you did was working after all! Sometimes, that will happen - I occasionally get commission for websites or other internet marketing venues that I set up months ago, so its always fun to get that little surprize!

Hi Matt,

Congrats.

Since you don't have a site and only have some aff links (perhaps on one or more forums?), the income must have been generated from your aff links.

As Hermas suggested, you might log onto CB and check out the details. Let us know what sold.

Congrats, belated as it may come. (Just saw this thread.)

The reason 97% of those who try to make money on the internet lose money instead, is because they don't learn the basic skill set(s) and they give up.

One of my favorite mentors talks about people getting refunds for her bum marketing manual and then some time later writing back asking how to give her refund back, because money started coming in after they had quit.

That's the great thing about bum (article) marketing. Your articles can generate money for years, possibly.

You just have to stick with it and not get depressed when the money doesn't come right away. Work at it enough and momentum will be built to the point of seeing some money.

Keep working and momentum can increase to the point of the auto-pilot snowball effect.

We all just need to keep working and learning skills.
