A couple of weeks ago I had a HUGE breakthrough...
If you are an Entrepreneur, then you would agree with me on this: the most important resource of them all is: time. Period.
We ALL have the same 24 hours in a day and sometimes we get lost along the way of our daily activities to make our businesses bigger.
So...What should we do?
Well, since I'm a HUGE believer that success = education + massive actions, that's exactly what I did. I learned from a 'productivity' freak the do's and dont's about 'Time Management'.
And you know something? There's NO such thing. You can't manage time. You can ONLY manage yourself in time.
So in the spirit of that, I created THIS simple tool to double my production and to take out of my mind the 'time management' myth...
To get it, just the click the link...
Cheers!

Cesar Fasano: We ALL have the same 24 hours in a day and sometimes we get lost along the way of our daily activities to make our businesses bigger. So true!
I also agree that time management is really a misnomer for self management. And effective self management is nothing more than developing habits that benefit you.

Great spreadsheet! I have been looking for something like this to actually track my time, and then see where I can make changes. I will definitely save this form thanks!

Thanks Cesar,
So nice of you to share. I have no idea how to make this type of thing (embarrassing but true), but I definitely need one. It would be really handy to have one that has all 7 days of the week. Is it hard to modify? Can you give me some pointers on how?
Thanks again, Angie

*blushing* - I have not yet learned how to do a spreadsheet... I know it's embarrassing but I usually get my kids to do that kind of a thing and now my dau moved out (she had done most of it) so I guess I need to learn...

Cesar,
Thanks for the post. That is a very nice spreadsheet. I don't know how to do spreadsheets either and I think I am going to use yours if you don't mind.

Very nice spreadsheet, are you going to make more of these? or is it easy to switch from month to month? I'd like to keep records over the course of more than just august!

You are welcome guys...
You can modify it the way you want it...I don't care.
If you don't know how to use Excel, now's a great moment to learn. Whenever I don't know how to use something, I:
- Read the manual/tutorial - Click every where until I find what I'm looking for
This is certainly a game changer for all Entrepreneurs who have no clue how to structure their agenda. As someone I know says, "Plan your days before they plan you.."
Cheers!
P.S: Be sure to keep track of your activities. We are animals of habits and this is why this tool was created. Do, Track, Repeat!

Hi, there
All very fascinating reading - so much information, when& where to draw the line between research, learning & taking action.
I was forced into action sooner than anticipated but always wanted to be able to work from home. It has been a steep learning curve, I am still on the climb but I aim to make it work.
For me to be successful, or achieve my day to day goals, managing my time is imperative.
Thank you for the spreadsheet tool.

Time management actually saves your time wasting in thinking what to do next. That speeds up the work as everything becomes scheduled. I agree with the words completely that "you cannot manage the time but you can manage yourself".

MayaLocke: The thing most people realize is time management is really nothing more than self discipline I agree totally - self discipline. However, bad habits are hard to break & if you are not used to being self disciplined or do not use time management tools e.g.
Cesar Fasano: So in the spirit of that, I created THIS simple tool to double my production and to take out of my mind the 'time management' myth... or other aids to help you become successful at time management, you'll find it tricky.
I enjoy the feeling at the end of the day, having listed my goals for the day, crossing them off & seeing how productive I have been. It feels good. If I have not managed to get through everything, there's always my list for tomorrow!
It's never ending!

Managing yourself and the time you have is very essential for any business. it is even more important for internet marketers as you can easily find yourself caught up in wasteful clicking and browsing without completing any of the tasks at hand.
thanks for the free tool. I will have a look at it.

There are some great replies about this subject!
At some point, I stopped using this spreadsheet and replaced it with a more simple tool...Want to know which one?
(drums please)
NOTEPAD! (also known as wordpad or textedit for mac users)
Every single night I write the most important 5 to 10 things that I must do the next day to take my business forward. That's it.
I have a text file on my desktop with the name: to-do list.
I figured that the more simple I handle this, the better.
As someone said: it's all about discipline. And that discipline comes from desire.
Most of the tasks that I wrote down, are expected to be accomplished in one hour. I still divide my day in 1 hour blocks and I have a timer to keep control. For every 50 minutes of work, I take 10 minutes of break.
This approach might remind you of the Google staff....they have sofa's in their offices and they take this kind of approach too. I believe that Facebook is the same thing..
Why? Because they get it.
This is how the human mind is designed.
A final tip is to take at least one afternoon off in the middle of the week. It will keep you fresh for the rest of the week.
If you're building your business part time, take a couple of hours off one night.
You can always do some of your tasks on weekends...if you want it bad enough.
cheers!

I just downloaded the first tool you developed! Thanks for sharing even though you've moved on to "textedit". On thing I have to say is that I get sucked into doing task at hand that I forget there are other things on the list. Assigning each task to 1 hour block is a great idea!

You're welcome!
I know what you mean...You might find out that dividing your tasks in 1 hour blocks can be challenging at first because of your automated habits...Just take a deep look at your behaviour and make small changes every day.
Awareness is key when it comes to productivity.
good luck!
