To do lists work best for me although I don't always stick to them. If I did I know I would be more efficient.

I use Outlook Today - "Tasks" for my to-do list. It sits on my computer all the time and when I think of something I need to do I put it in the tasks, prioritise and put the completion date.
Because it automatically comes on screen at startup it reminds me of the tasks needing doing and also gives me an audible signal of a task that is getting close to its completion date. So I can either do it or reset the completion date depending on the priority of the task.
Once completed, I put a tick in the box at the side of the task and it gets a line put through it - just like crossing off the task on a written list.
For daily activities I use the calander in Outlook Today which means I regularly check every week such things as Google Analytics, Technorati, get information for articles, other blogs, forums, social sites, etc. because each day of the week has specific to-do's on it. This I find keeps me really focused on the business.

My most productive days are when I write down on a piece of paper a few main things I want to get done. There is something liberating about crossing them off one at a time as I complete them!

I tried to use outlook for my planner this year and just went out and bought an old fashioned daily planner. It it the only way that works for me. I can't even use a notebook it has to be a planner. I fill notebooks with other stuff that gets confusing. I don't think I will ever be able to do electronic planning

Haha...sometimes "old school" is the best school!
Nothing is as simple, or important, as writing down a set of goals and a to-do list to accomplish those goals!
Err...of course, maybe an iPhone app could do it better!? j/k

I love writing lists. I have to because if everything were online, I'd need to be reminded to check there! An actual piece of paper stuck somewhere I absolutely can't miss it is highly effective with me. LOL

No, you are not alone on that! That's an effective way to be productive. Set your goals in a consistent basis and work on it to achieve them. Plan, Do, Review.
All the best, Francisco

Write something down? On ACTUAL paper, with lines and spiraly wires and ink?... Impossible! Unthinkable! Inconceivable!
But effective just the same. I should probably consider something like that since at this point I really need to make this online business thing work. Unemployment sucks even when you knew it was temporary employment to begin with and not having a car cause you killed it going to your best friends wedding sucks even more because then you can't get to a regular job. I need to start bringing in some income here.

I love to-do lists! I use two as well. One for what I want to get done that day, and another for the things I know need to be done everyday no matter what to achieve my ultimate goals. The first list changes everyday, but the second only changes when my primary goals change.
I got started with my online business with two programs that give you to-do lists as a way to teach yourself in an organized and focused way. They were My Online Income System and One Week Marketing.
Now I just make my own, but the help getting started was great!

I've been using to-do lists for as long as I can remember. I usally keep a small spiral notebook to organize my lists in case I forget to do something one day to the next.

I would be lost with pen and paper. My to-do list is written, crossed-out, then re-written at least 2 times a day.
And glindow, it's been about 6 weeks since that post -- have you started seeing online income? I'm rooting for you. This online stuff takes some time, but results DO happen.
