Personally I think doing surveys to make money is a waste of time.
I did surveys at the beginning of this year and the only payment I got was being placed in a bunch of sweepstake contests.
Besides I don't think doing surveys will generate enough money to pay the bills.
Just my experience

no.. I got a payment for a survey for $5... woo hoo I could break the bank with that one.. Oh and it took 2 months to get to me. When I got the check, I'm like, "Ooooo... now I go to the thrift store on half price mondays and stock up"

Phoenix,
I've tried that in the past and while you can make money it is very, very difficult. By signing up at their site they probably give you access to myriad other sites that pay individuals to fill out surveys. So, the first thing you have to do is sign up for all of those individual sites - which takes a lot of time.
Next you will start getting e-mail after e-mail for survey opportunities. What I found is that actual "pay for play" surveys are rare. What usually happens is that you do a survey and receive 5 points. When you have like 1000 points you get a dollar or two. So, yes you get money but you make like .10 cents per hour doing it! The other thing I found is that you often don't get paid at all and are just put into a monthly drawing of some sort.
So, they're not lying but it's not easy street like it seems.
Todd

I don't have tremendous experience with paid surveys. I gave up rather quickly after finding roughly the same things that Todd did. Seems to me, however, that the only way to make money with paid surveys is by advertising for the sites that charge you for lists of sites that offer paid surveys.
Personally I think eventually people will catch on that there's really no one out there getting paid $1000/hr to take surveys. Then the whole thing will collapse. That could take a while, though.

Hey Phoenix,
I went through the survey thing and was entered in a sweepstakes... I won $400 (off any "prize" of upward of $650).
So, even the "sweepstakes" are nothing but a SALES PITCH...
Find something real to do with your time, PLEASE!!!
Sorry for the bad news.
Good Luck,
Joe
